^Hollywood idols would many have been dead meat without “wigs”, and that includes today. I remember penny candy, and Cokes for a nickel! Jees! But it might also be noteworthy that we declared war on Japan, Germany declared war on US! not the other way around.

“And there was still penny candy when I was a kid in the ’70s. (That’s 1970s, not 1870s.)”
You’re not fooling anyone pops. I bet you still wear high button shoes.

Now W(ar)……… I remember loving the four for a penny candies I used to get at the Five and Dime. My fave was licorice “babies” probably quite racist in nineteen sixties South Dakota. My allowance for quite some time was Fifteen Cents a week. And we kids entertained our selves 90% of the time with no help whatsoever from adults.
The clause has no claws and probably never will.

Just a slight tweak. When I was a kid in the ’60s & ’70s, we DID have penny candy. This was on the Oregon coast in the Coos Bay area. Still really like this comic.
