How about Ebenezer Scrooge? (pre-redemption): Stubborn old man who refuses to play well with others, underpays his workers and intends to keep ALL the money for himself
Yes, Ima. We agree with you that Democrats are stubborn but hard working. We’re looking for a mascot for the GOP here. I’d kind of go with a “dog in the manger” myself, but the ostrich, fat cat, grouch, and trigger-happy fool are all excellent suggestions. Good cartoon.
The point is that the neocons have shot the elephant in the head, some time ago actually. The “social reversal” in the south, Democrat for Republican, is only one indication of the change. The “economic reversal” that came with Reagan, was a simple lesson in mathematics, ignored by the party.
Those that run the GOP have come out of denial and admitted that they need to change. When that change finally settles in, the RWNJs might find that they don’t like the new, more inclusive GOP. Or, the new, more inclusive GOP may not want to be associated with the RWNJs. Either way, it will be a fun movie. Pass the popcorn.
Unfortunately, those that think they “run” the GOP have to contend with those that listen to Rush, O’Reilly, Hannity, etc. that preach to the nut jobs that have the steering wheel at the moment. BTW: Allen WesFINALLY conceded today!
If you actually knew anything about mules, you wouldn’t be insulting them like this. Intelligent, easy keepers, strong sense of self-preservation. Maybe you should learn about an animal before you insult it.
what bothers me is the middle class and even the poor who are republicans. And they gripe so much about people who don’t make enough money to be taxed! One quarter 25% of all Americans work jobs that pay $10.00 or less. some people work 2 or 32 such jobs and Still don’t make enough. Some others who are poor are children and then people with physical and mental health issues. A lot of them are veterans with PTSD. There are some cheaters but, like with “voter fraud” it is probably greatly exaggerated.

Not Oscar. They want to eliminate PBS. Oh, wait, if that happens he will need a job!

The ostrich would be ideal for the GOP’s next “listening” tour.
