The irony of an adulterer who talks about having to “follow your heart” while denying the same privilege to gays is simply overwhelming. And then when you consider he was recently praised for being “honest” when in fact he had lied repeatedly about his mistress, where he actually was (which was arguably an impeachable offense, by the way, since he was inaccessible when his state might have needed him), using taxpayer money for illegal purposes (DEFINITELY an impeachable offence), and only ‘fessed up when he was CAUGHT…Yeah, there’s a real standard-bearer for the GOP.
In the last election, a person in a neighboring county was running for statewide office. It turned out that he had a domestic violence charge against him and that his wife had sworn out a restraining order. But the local Republican establishment countered with “God has forgiven him, so we should too.”
Now he is a member of the House of Delegates. Gotta love it.
Who says we did? Edwards got caught, and his political career was OVER. This nitwit is running again, and asked his betrayed ex-wife to run his campaign! WE apparently remember Edwards better than YOU do.
I,m always amazed at the “marriage is for procreation” argument. If this were in fact the case, then seniors marrying in a retirement home should not be allowed to marry. Nor should those who cannot have direct biological children. Nor should those ex- high school sweethearts who were married/divorced/widowed, yet somehow get back in touch in their late 60s or early 70s and marry. Marriage has nothing to do with love. It is society’s and religion’s way of “acknowledging” a relationship that exists regardless of whether society or religion exists.

“Traditional marriage” and the ability to blow away anyone who disagrees with you, two key “values”.

I have not figured out why some people like our own Jim Greer, go to prison (18 months), and some people just keep on keeping on.

There’s a smell test for adultery? I hope it’s just perfume.

Yes, it was MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough who praised Sanford for “being so honest” about his lying, once he got caught. Is that really the best you can do?
