That’s right. The house was designed and built with MODERN SCIENTIFIC STUDIES of possible storm strengths, and their consequences, by people who KNOW Climate Change IS REAL!! Unlike Republicans…
And, after all, Trump has a “natural instinct for science” because he talked with his uncle John, a PhD in electrical engineering (who died in 1985). Well, not about climate change, but, hey, science is science if you have the natural instinct…
It will still be weeks before they have running water, months before they have electricity and years before enough of the desolation is gone to feel comfortable living there. I wonder what the average age of the neighborhood was. And what the added construction costs where.
This house is actually on concrete fortified stilts with concrete reinforced corners and while the flooding did take the staircase away (as it was designed to do), the first and second floors were well above the surge and flooding and dry. In fact the owners are offering the house to loan for FEMA to use as a command center.

The building codes specify 150MPH winds (quite unbelievable considering the extensive damage). That house was custom designed to withstand 200MPH.

The only house that can withstand coastal flooding is a houseboat.
