It appears that in countries where people care about their fellowman and about the common good, health care is treated as a right. Whereas in the USA, “ya get what ya pay for!”
I don’t know if most people are aware that when people with pre existing conditions and no health insurance turn up in the ER, they still get care. It’s more expensive by that time because they haven’t had preventive care, and hospitals simply charge more to people who have insurance to make up the cost for people who don’t have insurance and can’t afford the cost of their care.
