The Republicans really have got themselves into a bind: They’ve wooed and won the MAGA tribe, which has taken over the party to the extent that whackos are now choosing the candidates in the primaries. But whacko candidates don’t run well in the real elections… not even with gerrymandering and other dirty tricks to prevent non-MAGA voters from being counted.

Lest you think that’s JUST a problem for Republicans, you should be aware that a LOT of “very liberal” voters are unhappy with “middle of the road” Democrat candidates, where “middle of the road” is half way to where the EXTREME right wingers live, and thus is far to the right of normal liberals. The difference seems to be that, so far, Democratic primaries seem to be won by people who the voters think can win in the real race, even if they don’t like ’em as well as they like real liberals.

Yeah. Somebody like Liz Cheney, Glenn Youngkin, Larry Hogan, or even Ron DeSantis ―

    No action on climate change

    Restrict abortion

    Corporations are people

    No taxes on the rich

    No student loan relief

Zero sympathy for working Americans trapped in poverty

No limits on personal machine guns

    No tolerance for any LGBTQ

    No worker’s rights

No plans, no vision, no relevance in the modern world

The Republican Party is living in the wrong century altogether.

Republicans seem to be stuck in a rut.. believing that only brand counts. The “pappy was a republican and by golly so am I”, attitude. Winning should be as simple as stamping a republican label on a fool that can be manipulated.

‘The results speak for themselves’: Republicans in blame game after Trump pick’s poor midterm performance

Republicans are changing their tune on mail-in voting, but Donald Trump is still questioning its validity. GOP operatives privately concede the former president undermined their midterm election chances by discouraging voters from casting ballots through mail and claiming widespread fraud had cost him the 2020 election, although few Republicans have publicly blamed Trump for the losses, reported Politico.

Kellyanne Conway: ’I’m the one Trump official with no subpoenas, indictments and investigations’

Former Trump White House counselor Kellyanne Conway is apparently proud of the fact that she has not been caught up in any potential criminal conspiracies. While talking with Piers Morgan this week about her cooperation with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots, Conway boasted about not being in the kind of legal jeopardy that has befallen so many of her other former colleagues in former President Donald Trump’s White House.

Kari Lake backs Trump’s call to ‘terminate’ Constitution so he can be reinstated

Failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake believes that former President Donald Trump was right to call for the “termination” of the sections of the Constitution that prevent him from being reinstated as president. In an appearance on the right-wing Salem News flagged by the Republican Accountability Project, Lake argued that Trump’s desire to shred America’s founding document was justified given the fraud that supposedly deprived him of a second term in the White House.

    Republicans are psychopathic traitors.

It was a competitive field, but Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday selected Herschel Walker as the “dummy of the day.”

Noting that the Republican “will not be moving to Washington” after his defeat to Sen. Raphael Warnock in the Senate runoff, Kimmel praised the victor for staying focused on his “primary message to Georgia voters, which was: ‘I am not Herschel Walker.’”

    The burns didn’t stop there.

“With the election now behind him, Herschel says he will now focus on his true passion: having more kids than Nick Cannon,” Kimmel continued. “Herschel is already working on his next project, which is desperately trying to learn to sing ‘Baby Got Back’ while dressed like an acorn on ‘The Masked Singer.’ Herschel has decided to step away from the spotlight to spend more time denying allegations from his family.”

Herschel beat out Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Donald Trump’s former White House press secretary Sean Spicer for Kimmel’s title, after both of them blundered in their Pearl Harbor anniversary messages.

Paul Whelan’s brother: I’m ‘absolutely supportive’ of Biden bringing Brittney Griner home

On Thursday, President Joe Biden managed to secure the release of WNBA star Brittney Griner from Russian prison in an exchange deal with Russia — but was not able to broker such a deal for Paul Whelan, a former Marine being held in Russia on trumped-up espionage charges, in large part because the U.S. has no Russian prisoners the Kremlin is willing to accept as part of that trade. In an interview on CNN that night, anchor Erin Burnett prodded Paul Whelan’s brother, David, to express frustration with the Biden administration over that state of affairs — but Whelan, despite being upset over his brother’s situation, made clear he supported the Griner swap.

‘Biblical conservative’ Republican likens bestialty to same-sex marriage in angry speech against bill

U.S. Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), a self-described “biblical conservative” and far-right ultra-MAGA extremist, delivered angry, ugly, and false statements on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives during Thursday’s debate on legislation to protect same-sex and interracial marriages. The bill passed 258-169, with all no votes coming from Republicans.Among his false statements, Good claimed the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2015 Obergefell decision recognizing the constitutional right to marriage for same-sex couples came immediately after Massachusetts – and no other state – made marriage equality legal in 2004.

Author of Florida’s ’Don’t Say Gay’ law resigns after being hit with money laundering charges

A Florida state representative who authored a controversial law banning teachers from mentioning their sexuality in class has now resigned just one day after being hit with money laundering charges. In a resignation letter sent out on Thursday, Florida State Rep. Joe Harding said he believed that it was the right decision to resign for the good of Florida so that his constituents would not have to deal with the distraction of the multi-count indictment he got slapped with on Wednesday.
