Well, technically, Biden recovered as much as he could from Afghanistan after Trump’s disastrous pre-pullout shenanigans in Afghanistan. Trump committed Biden and there was little or no wiggle room.
As far as the Sudan is concerned, why don’t we let it play out before we get too critical, hm?
Trump wouldn’t even bother to think about evacuating US citizens. He would however be trying to make a buck out of the situation. Winner gets to host a Trump hotel no doubt.
Can’t wait to see your cartoon with you in uniform, maybe parachuting out of a plane in the invasion of the Sudan. Or maybe your kids and relatives doing so. Otherwise don’t write blank checks for other people’s lives that you won’t personally cash.
Sudan was part of the Abraham Accords and an ally when Biden took over. Now their number one trading partner is China, and number two is Russia. Americans once again abandoned and private organizations are trying to get them out. But they are starting to be killed.
Biden is just the worst President ever. Well, the best ever from the eyes of our enemies.
What are there plans to invade and occupy Sudan? That was the mistake. Any withdrawal from something so poorly planned and executed was bound to go poorly one way or the other.
I don’t see where any government has an obligation to recover any citizens that choose to live in other countries. Do they continue to pay taxes to the country they now want help from (I don’t know). Those that are working need to be dealt with by the organization that pays them.
tRump surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban and left the mess for Biden. tRump’s “deal” kept the Afghan government out of the meetings, and made the demand that over 5,000 Taliban and ISIL fighters be released from Afghan jails. Those ISIL fighters are the ones who killed our 13 soldiers at the airport, the leader was killed just a few days ago by the Taliban. The blunder was all tRump’s.
Trump unconditionally surrendered to the Taliban and set a timeline designed to blow up in Biden’s face. Clever, politically, but sociopathic. I’m not seeing the same thing here in Sudan…
Blaming Biden for Afghanistan is like giving credit to Reagan for the Iran hostages being released. Neither are accurate and should be attributed to the former president who was actually behind it.
Why don’t we let it play out? And let facts get in the way of an opinion? Besides, and this is a bit of an issue for me in these situations: a civil war is coming, get out! Why do these Americans stay in these situations, then cry when the government will not commit resources to extricating them? And other countries are asking us for help getting their citizens out: anyone criticizing those other countries? Jeez!
Biden fiddles while Paris burns. China is meeting with world leaders from all over the globe. Biden meanwhile eats ice cream, needs a cheat sheet with questions and answers provided to get through the day. We are screwed royally.
As things turned out, the Sudan evacuation of US Embassy personnel went off without a hitch, and efforts to evacuate most remaining American citizens are proceeding well as of April 29.

There are several countries with citizens caught in the Sudan mess, all with the same problems in protecting their citizens.

Remember the 5000 Taliban prisoners Trump released before he left office. What a stupid move—turned them loose just before he agreed to get out.

Good one! There’s only 16000 American’s in Sudan. Hey California, what will Biden do for you when the lights go out?

And all the while, the real enemies were in Pakistan with General Pervez Musharraf, W’s “friend” and recipient of billions of US dollars.

Pretty sure Americans have been warned to leave and not travel to Sudan for quite some time. Where possible, I’m sure people will be aided.
In the meantime, Russia’s Wagner group is arming both sides of the conflict.
