It’s getting harder to NOT think of today’s GOP as being extremist.
With the rising trend in right-wing extremism, U.S. federal and local agencies need to shift some of their focus and intelligence resources to penetrating far-right networks and preventing future attacks. To be clear, the terms “right-wing extremists” and “left-wing extremists” do not correspond to political parties in the United States, such as Republicans or Democrats. Opinion polls in the United States show that most Republicans and Democrats loathe terrorism.
I remember “peace and love.” The Republican Party countered that with Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew—both forced to resign. Now the Republicans have devolved to “guns and hate” and offer a Lovecraftian slate of horror.
They seem to think that the GOP will protect them, cover for them. It will not, the GOP is using their votes to get their own ends, and then, good-by, Charlie.
It always depends on the topic who is tolerant who is not. Isn’t it a bit odd when Mike never mentions it when liberals are intolerant. AJC first gave up their house conservative Op-Ed columnist and then their liberal one. The Op-eds are no longer 7 days a week and the remaining ones are at best second tier, yet they keep this hopeless liberal hack. Maybe Mike works for cheap or he knows where the bodies are buried.
The entire history of the human race is of hate. We evolved as small, naked creatures with no claws, teeth that were useless as a defense, and brains smart enough to tell us that we were in trouble. Hate is just a reaction to fear. No one hates something unless they are afraid of it. There is a reason why my cousin in rural Arkansas is afraid of American becoming mixed race. She knows white folks, they haven’t killed her yet, and those funny looking ones she sees on TV make her nervous.
Replacement Theory? Seriously? You’ve Got Some Nerve.
After the pilgrims came… in 1630, the population was 4,646 non-Native Americans and they were 97.8% white. Whites therefore made up at most 0.09% of the real population here.
In 1850, 9.7% of the US population was foreign born. We don’t know where 1.9% of them came from.
In 1870, 14.4% of the US population was foreign born.
In 1890, 14.8% of the US population was foreign born.
In 1910, 14.7% of the US population was foreign born.
The first settlers of then Mexican Texas from the United States were illegal immigrants who went to Texas with the express purpose of breaking the law (Mexico was an abolitionist country that had banned slavery)
When Bush Sr was president in 1990, we didn’t know where 4% of the people who were foreign born came from.
In 2010, 12.9% of the US population was foreign born.
In 2020, 13.7% of the US population was foreign born. We don’t know where 316 of them came from. That’s only 0.001%.
Anybody that’s telling you immigration is out of control is simply lying to you.
As an exercise in logic, should we be tolerant of intolerant people? (You could look up the terms “meta” and “self-referential”. Prime example: “This statement is a lie.”)
