We’ll see if he’s able to get enough House votes to win. If not, I suspect he’ll fall back to the 14th amendment.

The big takeaway here is not that Biden took them to the cleaners (and he would want to wash those soiled clothes before he does anything with them), but rather the GQFP can’t stay on message. McCarthy has been negotiating directly with Joe and says he is a shrewd negotiator, totally at odds with the general message that Biden is senile and can’t find his pants without help. They don’t believe it anymore than I do, they all know him and see him regularly. Crooks and hypocrites.

All it shows is that Biden is cognitive enough to serve another term. Regan wasn’t in 1984, yet they worshiped him into a landslide after this debate in Louisville.

Show this cartoon to House GOP reps and they might just vote no to prove Mike wrong if he is talking about the debt ceiling. For other things Executive Orders are almost all Biden has because the House is GOP. Politics has a way of making people irrational.

He will get enough House votes because Democrats will do the right thing for the United States. They may hold their noses as they go about this business, but they will do the right thing.

Someone is forgetting that they are up against a whole team backed by a national organization. Reagan was pretty Clueless, but he let the executive branch run the show while he played ringmaster, sideshow barker and snake oil salesman to the nation.

Considering what the 74,223,975 are putting out there on the floor, we’re really not giving Biden much of a compliment.

A good example of what can happen when you have a COMPETENT PRESIDENT who does NOT spend most of his time scarfing down Hamberders, Playing Golf, Watching FAUX Noise, and Twitter Whining at 3 in the morning while on the toilet about ANYTHING he doesn’t like!

Considering who President Biden was negotiating with, hardly a surprise the Repubs got very little of what they were clamoring for.

This entire $hy+ $how is a disgrace. Deal with the debt – ALREADY spent money – and budgetary/spending policy SEPARATELY, at the appropriate times. This bullsquirt of political posturing and hardballing to score points for elections is appalling.

Slush and the other GQP trolls either have not read the Constitution or did it while their lips were moving (and that of course would have caused them to look for a tuchus to smooch) if they think POTUS does not have clout ready to use

That is not a good depiction of how this went down. Biden caved to a lot of concessions in addition to adding a gift for Manchen. The 1% luxuries and tax responsibilities, or lack of responsibilities, will remain protected. No increases spending on infrastructure and social programs over the next years, will really equal to cuts thanks to expected cost of living increases during the same period. But military spending can increase (think defense contractors here). Power has been dramatically lessened for Executive Orders involving spending, which will require cuts from other programs, most likely social programs (think PAYGO).

The complaining GOP is putting on their usual theatrics in order to squeeze more out of the already lame azz deal. AOC and her usual suspects see the deal for what it really is.

We’ve come to see that tRump, who evidently never had an original thought, takes other’s ideas and steals their credit for his own. Looks like tRump tried to steal the ideas in ‘The Art of the Deal’ book as well. tRump calls for default while Biden makes the deal. How many more Republican/conservative amateurs will they send to the White House? How many will conservatives vote for?

This is what I’m saying. The trolls on the ‘Net bleat about Biden’s alleged dementia, despite his having Jedi mind-tricked the entire Republican congress at the SOTU into promising they wouldn’t reduce Social Security or Medicare. The GOP was lying, of course, but now we have them on record. Thanks, Master Jedi Joe.

The Biden administration for months said NO NEGOTIATIONS, PERIOD over raising the debt limit. McCarthy & Co. got negotiations AND an agreement. Looks like Luckovich has this one bass ackwards.

That being said, I respect that the Biden admin. changed their minds and came to the table. This is how it used to work between the parties.
