Why can’t Democrats control the message on issues where we are strongest?

Inflation and economy? Biden has delivered the lowest unemployment in 70 years, and kept U.S. inflation far below that of other industrial nations in the wake of Putin’s war of aggression and the OPEC+ alliance with Russia to suppress oil production. Republicans espouse the same oft-failed “trickle down” disaster of cutting taxes for the rich and deregulating corporations that brought economic collapse to the U.K. and brought down Liz Truss in just 44 days for the shortest term as prime minister in British history.

Crime? Actual crime rates are far higher in red states than blue states. It is REPUBLICANS who block every effort to close the loopholes that guarantee U.S. criminals, terrorists and domestic abusers the easiest access to guns of any industrial nation on earth, and the ensuing barrage of murders, robberies and mayhem that predictably ensue.

And of course, that is in addition to Democratic strong points in PROTECTING PERSONAL LIBERTY and individual freedom in our private lives.

Truth. Except that calling the US policies “liberal” is laughable. And the “conservatives” in the UK are in many ways more liberal (universal health care, anyone?) than the extremely backward USA.

Too often, Democrats let Republicans create the narrative. Crime is down across the board, but you don’t hear Democrats pointing that out at every gathering. You know what? Inflation and economic issues are transitory. But, when you lose your rights, that can take decades to regain, if ever. WAKE UP, DEMOCRATS, GROW A SPINE, AND FIGHT!

Lowest unemployment in 70 years? Then why companies understaffed? We saw the same thing 40 years ago, the Dems claimed that low unemployment rates under Carter as a sign of recovery. The problem with that argument is that unemployment was low because low income earners had to work two or more jobs to make ends met. I know, I was one of them.

It’s so much work to understand even one of the problems confronting the world in general. The facts are myriad, often contradict, and are changing daily. On the other hand, a statement that can be expressed on a bumper sticker is easy. It would be impossible to honestly sum up anything relevant in 20 words or less, but most people don’t want to deal with any more than that. Since the Republicans are quite happy to ignore honesty and integrity as long as they are winning the point, this works well for them.

    Any other stupid questions?

No wonder Republican disinformation is at an all time high.

The anti abortionists were out in force recently. Just another way they want to kill Americans. Given the age of the people sitting on the lawn chairs with their signs, I couldn’t help but wonder if the right wing propaganda machine signed a bunch of dementia patients out of a local nursing home on the pretext of taking them to the zoo or something.

Lack of critical thinking skills and general education allow the propagandist to tell ridiculous lies and get away with it. The current inflation is primarily due to the GOP’s failure to fight the pandemic, their idol Putin and his stupid war, plus stupid policies like tariffs on trading partners that raised prices directly. The Democrats may have over reacted with excess assistance to those harmed most by GOP policies. Racism, guns, failure to help drug addicts and hate are GOP goals that advance crime, while locking up non-dangerous criminals just destroys families without helping anyone. White collar crime is more insidious and is a mainstay of the GOP, since they support Trump’s lies and grift.
