It’’s not “putting up” with what we’ve enjoyed most for 27 years. And intelligent commentary isn’t silly, especially considering the insanity out there today…
Nice goin’ man. 27 yrs is a purty good start. You are blessed to have a profession where you’ve succeeded so well; you’re gifted.
Wiley, this looks familiar. Did you do other comics with a similar theme?
I’ve enjoyed your work, I hope you have enjoyed creating them.
Thanks for 27 years of fun. And Wiley Bears!
And stories like those of Homer, etc.
I could put up with your silliness FOREVER, Wiley…
Most cartoonists develop their style over the years. This example shows that Wiley’s style was perfect to begin with.
Thank you for the time and effort you have put in to bringing us all of the marvelous stories and adventures you have shared with us over the years!
Wow! Getting paid 27 years for being silly.
Happy “Birthday”, Mr. Miller !
Thanks for a perfectly developed ’toon, right out of the cave entrance.
Happy anniversary! Thank you for your unique humor!
Thank you Wiley for each and every one of these ‘toons. I wasn’t able to see the beginning but I’ve enjoyed them all, especially the censored ones
Happy 27 years!!
your comic works over the past 20 years have been very enjoyable but for the silly overdone Bears you have been doing. Forget them and work on the rest please.
That arrow must have found one heck of a vital and sensitive spot!
You caught it. You clean it.
And here’s to many more years of silliness!
Thank you for all the intelligent, clever, subtle, unsubtle wonderful strips you give us!
Good job! Keep it up!
Been enjoying comics since the late 1930’s. Your work ranks with the best. Congratulations, Wiley. Here’s wishing you many more years of work that satisfies you.
Congratulations on 27 years of success. That is a lot of imagination and work. Well done!
Expected life time = 90 days. Final count = 15 years. Return of effort = immeasurable Thank you
Enjoying your work. Keep it up.
Happy 27, Wiley!
That sounds like a good-bye turn of events. Your recent comment of truth to power, I.e, to maniac-in-chief, should not be a deterrence. Tis the humorists of America who have rendered an outlet of protest for the anxiety of us all.
Happy Birthday? Happy Anniversary? Happy Launch Day!!
It has been a pleasure. Looking forward to more, actually.
Looking foreword to another twenty-seven years!
Does this mean Wiley is retiring & this is his last comic?
Happy Anniversary! You started the same year (and month) my wife and I got married!
I’m so sorry that our local paper, the Columbus Dispatch, has overreacted to the errant (but well-deserved) comment in a recent Non Sequitur comic and dropped the strip. Non Sequitur is, without a doubt, the smartest comic the Dispatch carried.
First rate cartoon from first-rate cartoonist. Many happy anniversaries, Wiley.
It’s been a great ride!
I enjoy your work… JT
With you since day one Wiley! Keep it going and thanks!!!
Wiley. Sometimes your silliness is all that gets me through the day.
And I learn new words! “Anoesis” is my favorite, so far!
27 already? Doesn’t feel a day over 18. The above strip may be old, but it bear’s repeating.
Happy Anniversary! Here’s to the next 27 !
Or, the beginning of cooperation and sharing tasks to survive and thrive.
Congratulations young man, and many more fine years to you. (I would like you to do my headstone – that is the theme I enjoy most.)
Wiley is a living example of “They can make me grow older, but they CAN’T make me grow up!” Keep on NEVER growing up, Wiley!
And keep on throwing those custard pies in the face of the self-righteous and self-important! We’re with you ALL THE WAY!!!
Congratulations and thank you for bringing us so many chuckles and laughs.
Congratulations on your anniversary. Love your silliness.
Thank You, Wiley! Non Sequitur is the first comic strip I read each morning, and I look forward to many more years of silliness!
Thank you Wiley. It’s been a great 27 years.
Thank you. Love the silliness and social commentary.
Congratulations and thanks for all the laughs over the years. Non Sequitur has been one of my favorites since you started drawing it. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Wiley, for all the years of wit.
I remember the first time I saw your comic in the Sunday paper. The embellishments around it were like illuminated letters in old religious texts that monks used to do. Your use of characters and regular strips is unique. Thanks for the strip and I hope for many more years.
happy anniversary Wiley
Cool! After 27 years, i think that you can consider yourself one of The Greats.
Keep ’em coming, Wiley! You are a superstar!!
Thank you for the thoughtful entertainment
Sorry I have missed so many! Really enjoy and hope you keep at it many more years..
Weather the storm, Wiley. The insightful will hang in there with you. (I have to admire your courage in taking the stand you did.)
Your exquisite artwork and exquisite humor have pleased me for decades. Bravo!
Too too funny, right from the start! Congratulations and thank you for all the great work you have done.
I don’t remember when I first read your work but I totally enjoy your wit. Thanks.
Keep up the good work Wiley! That Butler newspaper can go f%#k themselves.
Thanks for all the years of fun reading…
You have done very good Mr. Miller
Thank you & Congratulations.
Great stuff. Keep it up. Other than Calvin, you’re my favorite.
Great commentary all these years
Congratulations on 27 years…next time you want to go totally political, step away from your drawing board, go out into your backyard and scream at the top of your lungs. Then, "Just say ‘No’ " and don’t do it. You are way too good to end up tossed out because you got fed up once too many times. Live long and prosper for many more than 27 more years.
Happy anniversary! And thanks for all the laughs.
I remember reading that cartoon for the first time and laughing out loud. I was hooked ever since. Great artwork, wonderful wry wit and pithy stories. Keep it up Wiley. It’s a good ride and I don’t want it to end.
Congrats on the anniversary! Your silliness is much needed.
I’ve seen drawing styles change in a strip over the years but if this is the very first, it still looks like today’s work. Not that it hasn’t progressed and gotten better. This first one is wonderful.
Congrats!! Love your comic strip!
Wiley, you are the best comic artist ever.
Congrats, and many thanks oh Sion of the great Hershfeld!
Congrats for making it this long. Look forward to this cartoon everyday.
Thanks for so many awesome years, and please keep it up!
For 27 years I have enjoyed your artistry, your provocative wit, and your ability to express your opinions and reflect those of others through your cartoons.
I hope that you continue your excellent work for another 27 years. As Spock says: “Live Long and Prosper”!
I hope he starts his own Facebook page like Burke Breathed did with Bloom County.
Thanks, Wiley. You are constant, enjoyable habit.
Outstanding work for three decades.
The only feedback is to be a little more balanced on your politics and avoid the koolaid of the statists.
The Best! Well, along with a few others, but we’ve discussed this before.
This is one of my “have to read everyday comics”. Congratulations and keep it up!
Love your silliness… keep it coming!
Still my favorite comic strip. Thank you.
You’re a classic and your Reuben was well deserved. Thanks for the laughs and Making Comics Great Again.
Congrats.Doesn’t seem like 27 years.Bring back Nebbish(Mueller) soon ;)
can’t face a day without you Wileybless your beautiful mind!!!
NOT “put up with,” Wiley: ENJOYED you all these 27 years. THANKS!!!
Love your silliness. Definitely one of the best ones out there.
Thanks for the great comics. And thanks for the Easter Eggs too.
And the family probably is still eating off that—that—whatever that creature is.
Thank you for the ongoing entertainment – one of the best strips around
Thank you, Wiley, for all of the silliness!
I read Non Sequitur at the Washington Post website. Today’s cartoon is the one above, but the heading is “Non Sequitur by Brian Basset.” I hope Wiley hasn’t been forced into retirement by the Sunday-strip brouhaha.
Congratulations on 27 years. Hope there are more strips on the way. Love your humor and artistry.
No, thanx to you, Wiley, my day always starts off a little brighter!
With ya all the way here. F*ck #Dolt45
Knew it looked familiar. Thanks for the silliness, and please don’t stop!
The appreciation should be coming from this side for the years of laughs, smiles, and wry insight. Thank you!
27 years of great humor. BTW thanks for the awesome Easter egg last Sunday.
If you planned to end the strip today, I understand last Sunday’s Easter egg a little better. Thanks for the past 27 years!
It isn’t going to be 27 more years before the next “Illegible Marginal Comment” is it, Wiley? ☺
And thank you for it. You are one of the very best. I hope this doesn’t mean you’re considering stopping. At least 27 more, please!
Congratulations on the anniversary! Of all the strips I follow on GoComics, yours is among the top few that I really look forward to each day (others include the work of Ruben Bolling, which puts you in pretty good company). Your wit, humor, satire and social commentary are among the best around.
I’ve read your toon from the get go. With a coffee and quesitos, I say may you live forever Mr. Wiley. Keep us laughing and keep poking them in the eye. Love ya man!
Sometimes silliness makes more sense than sense itself….thank you, Mr. Miller
I wasn’t there QUITE from the beginning, but I do have the first collection, “Dead Lawyers and Other Pleasant Thoughts” (from 1993). “Non Sequitur” is one of my top three current comics favorites. If Trump is impeached, or removed due to the 25th Amendment, think the papers that dropped the strip will put it back? (I suppose Wiley could’ve told Putin to you know what, and there’s not much difference between Putin and Trump. Just the difference between the owner and the poodle……..)
Dear Wiley. Thank YOU for all the silliness. And please keep it up!
If it died due to one spear my guess is it is only feigning death.
Nobody quite stirs the pot as well as Wiley
No one quite stirs the pot as well as Wiley
Happy Anniversary—keep up the Irony!!
Congratulations on 27 years! And, frankly, we come for the silliness so no apologizes needed.
Always a pleasure to see and read your work. Happy anniversary and keep up the great work. And should a profane digression occur again, well sh** happens. Peace Brother!
And they cheer me up daily!
Thanks, Wiley! I guess the cave-couple were eating mammoth-ala-king for a good long while.
That is one tough caveman. What the hell is that? Elephant or rhino? “Eelephino”.
Hate to see you go…
Wiley, I have enjoyed your strip daily for years, and had the Non Sequitur calendar on my desk at work every year up until I retired, and still have one on my desk at home. Congratulations on your anniversary, and please keep up the good work. Your work makes me laugh, makes me wistful at times, and almost always (and most importantly) makes me Think! You are, Sir, are an American Hero. I salute you.
Thank you for having a mind we can all appreciate.
Love it! Love you!
For 27 yeas you have delighted us all with your wackiness and insight. Thank you!!!
Thank you, Mr. Miller. May you continue as long as the muse burns within.
Wiley, Thank you for all of the time and creativity you’ve put into your strip. That Snoopy dog kills me and when the Lucy character pulls the football away at the last minute from that dufus kid, it’s a riot. Oh wait, that’s another strip. Just kidding and I enjoy yours so please keep up the good work.
Still one of my favorite cartoons. Wiley, you get my sense of humor.
I swear I remember seeing that one. Thanks, Wiley, and don’t go away!!
Been with you since pretty close to the beginning.I was finishing up law school in Austin & my dad was in San Antonio. We shared comics and the NYT crosswords almost every day over long distance, then email, over the years until he passed a few years ago. Yours were always at the top of our list.
Thank your for your keen eye & pen and sharp wit! Here’s to many more years!
Always have enjoyed your unique imagination and clever way of looking at life. I only read Fuzzy and your stuff.
I rate it four bears out of five.
You are welcome!
You rock, Wiley! Here’s to another 27 years!
Say it ain’t so, Joe!
This isn’t goodbye is it?
Thank you for both your silliness and for your moral voice.
PLEASE more anti Trump hidden messages.
Happy birthday N.S. Do hope you’re not planning on going anywhere any time soon Mr. Wiley Miller!!!
Never quit. Never.
And I thank you for sharing your creativity and humor, both of which are desperately needed at this point in history.
Wiley, I’m an old lady prude, and I LOVED the scribble! Thank you for all these years’ worth of clever humor.
Is that, NO!, a dead bear?
Missed you for the last few days, glad to find you here. Need my daily dose of sanity.
I have enjoyed your strip from the beginning and hope to continue to do so - but it really became important when I stopped reading it in the local paper and started reading it online. The comments are also (often) priceless. Thank you for giving so many of us a voice. Please continue for many years. After all, life is still a non sequitur-it’s a real shame that newspaper editors don’t understand the term.
Love this guy. And he’s never lost his edge.
Wiley,Thank you for 27 years of Joy and Wisdom!!In Humor, there is subtle, sometimes painful Truth…I start my day with your insightful peek at our humanity.Wishing you the Happiest and Healthiest, Always!Bernie
Have daily been looking forward to your witty “silliness” since your beginning and continue to look forward to more each day. Bravo! Congratulations on 27 years.
Congratulations! I would truly miss it if it went away!
Thank you Mr. Miller! I look forward to your comic every day.
I would have been 16 and a Sophmore in Highschool. I know I started reading the funny pages regularly starting around age 8 or 9. There is a pretty good chance that I have been reading your comic from the very beginning.
I went back through everything from this year and don’t see anything “kerfuffle” worthy, so I have no idea what those other commenters are referring to. 27 years is a long time though, and though I would really miss this comic, I would understand if it was time for you to move on. I would like to see the ending of the Nebbish story though.
Not ‘silliness’; wisdom! Thank you for being part of our lives and we wish you many years to come.
Thanks for all these years of daily humor; they go into my journal that my kids (maybe) will suffer and endure after I am gone.
Thank you for the 27 years and please don’t stop!
One of the best comic strips ever. He understands the human condition.
I can’t start my day without my morning Non-Sequitor – both current and on my daily calendar. It was hard during 2018 to relive 2016 though :-) So thanks for continuing to do such good work for all of us.
You continue to bring me laughs and joy. Thank you.
All the above comments are so wonderful, and so accurate. Keep doing the strip as long as you can – those of us less capable of being humorous are reliant on you.
Look forward to you every day. Thanks.
I’ve enjoyed your silliness for many years. Please keep up the good work.
Thank you for all the silliness!
Congratulations! I have enjoyed this strip for all of those years and look forward to many more!
HB2U, HB2U, HBD Non Sequitur, HB2U &+^^^^^^^!

“Put up with”"? We happen to LIKE what you do. Last Sunday was a blip.
Wiley, if by what you mean by silliness: brilliance, I personally am willing to put up with you for the next 27 years, and be on.
I wish this cartoon would stay. Please do not disown it, whomever puts these comics together.
Happy Birthday, Non Sequitur.
And it’s been one of my top favorite comic strips for 27 years. Congrats and please keep ’em coming!
While I enjoy many a comic, Non Sequitur is the one I look forward to the most. Ignore those folks with the negative comments, they have little or no mind to work with and the fact that you can get them riled up enough to spew their hatred means you are, indeed, saying all the right things in all the right ways! Please don’t ever stop!
HAPPY COMICING Non Sequitur (Wiley Miller) & many more. Keep up the good work!
So late in the day that I doubt if many will read me, but I have to pile on. Mr. Miller, you are a national treasure in my book. Your combination of a fine cartoon illustration skill, continued invention of beloved characters and themes, and master comedian’s depth in probing the faults and insane bits in each of us is currently unmatched. You basically have no peers. Those that find themselves unwilling to support you after this recent kerfluffle were probably upset with Gary Larson, too. He retired before the PC police, of course. Gahan Wilson? Often far too macabe for a Sunday paper. And David Horsey’s political take would constitute a cardiac emergency for the same bunch.I would not support or buy a paper that did not include Non Sequitur.
Thank you, Wiley, for 27 hilarious years.
I love the mix of hilarity and drollity. Thanks for all of your work!
Congratulations, Wiley. Here’s to 27 more years! :)
27 years, kennehora!* Your wit and style have only gotten sharper over the years. Thank you for all your work — I don’t think I’d have gotten through the last 2 years without it (esp. the bears).
Have been enjoying your comic for years , keep up the good work!!!!
You have one of the best comics in the land. Even with the occasional typographical errors (which really are in the mind of the beholder) ;)
Congratulations. Well done. Apparently for some time. So. Thank you.
Mammoth mixed grill coming up.
Wiley, thank you for all the years of hard work. Your art is something I look forward to, every day. It’s obvious you have a gift, and thank you for sharing it with all of us.
Wiley, You are demented. Thank you.
Hmmm, what a long strange trip, it’s been. Hey Wiley, what more could you ask for, than a job you enjoyed doing?
Thanks, our pleasure!
Ha! Classic Wiley!
That’s some ugly kids.
Congratulations on 27 years of merrymaking and s*** disturbing. Hope this is not the end and that you continue on for another 2 or 3 decades.
Happy 27th Anniversary! :)
The kids are delightful.
Congrats! I don’t don’t know if I’ve ever seen that many likes and comments. And it is really slowing down the internet here!
Wiley, I will always love you. No kidding. <3
Happy Anniversary!! And, thank you for the laughs!!
Congratulations – I look forward to reading Non Sequitur every morning.
It’s this silliness that helps me make it through the daze. Thank you.
Thank you for all your wonderful and thoughtful panels.
The silliness is great. What we “put up with” is the health-preachiness and the left-wing politics that shows up on a regular basis between the strips that contain silliness.
Happy Anniversary! I love your strips!
Thank you for these 27 years and looking forward very much to the next 27.
Have enjoyed your cartoon for many years. keep keeping us laughing!
Been married 50 years. I’m so lucky to be married to a great cook! Early on, he always complained about my cooking. So I stopped and gave him free reign in the kitchen! So worth it!
Congratulations! I’ve been reading for a long time. Love your stuff, love the bears! You’ve made my refrigerator more than once. I hope you will be around for many more years.
The dawn of comic greatness ! Only Doonesbury can compete !
I’ve enjoyed your “silliness” for most of your 27 years and I hope there will be another 27 years!
Happy Anniversary Wiley!
Brilliant silliness – thank you for all 27 silly years.
