Somehow I’m reminded of Norman Rockwell’s self-portrait.

Is this what they mean when they say stick it to the man?

He needs to “reverse” his drawing. Now it only looks like his mirror image.

He’s expressing his inner child. Life might be brighter if a lot more of us did that.

It appears someone has plagiarized my art style.

Is that a pandemic ponytail I see?

I majored in art history for my first degree. That’s not Impressionism. And certainly not Post-Impressionism. Perhaps Post-Modern.

ah, impressionism and without all those unhealthy pounds. Nothing lie a workout with a pen.

He needs glasses….

One time not too long ago, my dad asked me to draw a simple portrait of him, so I drew Charlie Brown. He got a good laugh from it.

Well, at least it looks like something. I don’t mean Picasso-like abstraction, such as Guernica or Three Musicians. I’m referring more to the Jackson Pollock style, which to my ignorant and unappreciative eyes, appears to be the drop-cloth from painting the garage. Several people have patiently and carefully explained to me that I “don’t understand what the artist is trying to say.” I concede the point, but I point out that it appears the artist was either merely babbling or just engaging in “artistic” self-satisfaction.

Seems like Mr Miller is just noodlin’ around. That’s OK.

Since Biden took the reins, I’m easier to please and less likely to find fault. Ah, I’m enjoying the bliss.

I wonder if the artist portrayed is Miller?

For a self portrait, I draw a pear.

The artist as an old man. With a ponytail.

It looks good to me. I’m sure his Mom will put it on the refrigerator. Heck, if he is famous enough, it will sell at auction for millions. Art is complicated.

Mine always comes out looking like a cat.

There is an easier way, you know. Take a selfie, open it up with GIMP, then hit the Impressionist filter!

Wait until Mom sees it after she paid all that money for Art School. That’s basically crap.

Could be Wiley was blocked for a while and decided the best way past it was to just noodle, i.e. just draw whatever comes into his mind. Also very effective for writers. I usually started out in longhand so my very angry handwriting showed my irritation and that seemed to speed up the unblocking. Whatever works.

I couldn’t draw a stick figure if you gave me a ruler and spotted me the head.

When I was tutoring English as a Second Language in college, I had a student who really spoke very little English. He didn’t have a dictionary of his language to English, either. The lesson was about different foods. I did my best to draw pictures of each food or the animal it came from. He was totally baffled by my sheep drawing, even with my accompanying “baaa baaa” sounds, and we both got the giggles. We finally gave up, and I went with him to clear up some sort of tangle he had with the Admissions Department, which was something I could do!
