The S Word is something you can’t say in polite company and say “Shoot” or “Shucks” instead. And there was a time when “Sucks” was also an S Word but is now rather common and acceptable when referring to something negative.
I can’t tell you what the “S” word is. Like the “N” word or the “F” word it;‘s just assumed everyone knows what word is being referenced because it’s not polite or acceptable to use the actual word.
I agree with the philosophical principle that the pen can be mightier than the sword. But I will also concede the practical point that the sword can speak louder at any given moment.
“The pen is mightier than the sword” is a metonymic adage, created by English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839, indicating that the written word is more effective than violence as a tool for communicating a point. In some interpretations, written communication can refer to administrative power or an independent news media.

A sword is a long spearpoint without the stick. The spear too is mightier than the sword.

The pen is mightier than the sword as long as you keep away from the pointy end of the sword.

Only if the pen is signing a contract on the sword-ers life.
zwilnik64 about 1 year ago
In theory, I can write a tract that can gin up a bigger angry mob than you can force into battle at sword point.
Though a printing press would expedite the process immensely.

In this case it would seem the sword (boulder) is mightier? Or, mighty merely in longevity?

After the swords work is done, the pen’s work still remains.
