The only animals that fit on that island are fleas. Maybe Noah wants to drop them off and continue his journey.

When I run across “Policy is policy” mentality, I either give up immediately or ask to be put in touch with the boss. Some “deep hierarchy” companies have given up when I got more than 3 levels above “flunky”. Some, of course, have not.

You couldn’t fit more than a couple of cats and a squirrel on that mountain top, anyway, so find another Mount Ararat.

Noah could claim them as “comfort animals.” The Flood situation appears extremely uncomfortable.

here’s something to think about: science channel had an episode that decided that Noah could have indeed been carrying all the animals in the Ark, if what he was transporting was their DNA…

People who are politically or corporate correct in their thinking have subjugated themselves and their subordinates to a fantasy world where the boss wants yes people and they will never disappoint the boss. I have told several bosses they misinterpreted what I told them, “I was a kick butt to succeed person,” unlike them and their kiss butt. Management the stumbling blocks of success.

I’ve always been fascinated by the story of Noah and the Ark. If it was real, and that it a big if, It was Noah and his family in the Ark with a pair of every animal on earth. The flood wiped out all human and land animal life.

That means that to repopulate the earth we are all descendants from one incestuous family tree. Perhaps that explains the crazy in this world.

Would a single breeding pair of each animal allow for the repopulation of a species? Seems like that much in-breeding would result in some screwed up animals.

What is a policy? A course or principle of action, a set of rules or guidelines, a system, a program, a code of behavior adopted or proposed by a government, religion, party, business, organization, or individual. Parents have policies for their children. Families have policies, although sometimes they are called traditions [e.g., Grandma’s cherry cake for Thanksgiving; Aunt Pat’s penuche and peanut brittle at Christmas and the uproar from everyone when they don’t make them]. Groups establish policies to fulfill the group’s mission or purpose. Businesses establish policies to ensure safety, productivity, and profit.

Hotels and motels establish no pet policies because allowing pets increases their costs and safety hazards. Rooms [and hallways] that have had dogs or cats (or other pets) in residence — regardless of how well-behaved — have to be fully sanitized before the next visitor [who may have allergies]. They have to be made completely free of dander and odor, which means all surfaces scrubbed and all bedding replaced and sanitized. [Similar process are required for smoking rooms.] That means extra staff, extra equipment, extra time, extra costs.

It isn’t policy per se that is bad — try living in a world without any. Policies are needed to ensure civilization can function. But, some policies are good; some are not. Some are bad, malicious and evil; some are short-sighted; some are misguided; some are just plain out of date. Policies have to be continually examined to determine which category they fall under. Parents change their bedtime policy as their kids get older; male-only schools and organizations start allowing female participants. Our government spends a huge amount of its time trying to change bad, outdated and misguided policies. And, of course, not everyone agrees.

Before taking a policy as a personal insult, one needs to at least ask "Why? “Why this policy?” “Is it reasonable/useful/needed/appropriate?”

So if it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, and the earth was covered with water, I’m not seeing how it could have receded giving up dry land again. Must have been an extended drought later.

    The Plan

In the beginning, there was a plan, And then came the assumptions,And the assumptions were without form, And the plan without substance,

And the darkness was upon the face of the workers,And they spoke among themselves saying,“It is a crock of sh*t and it stinks.”

And the workers went unto their Supervisors and said,“It is a pile of dung, and we cannot live with the smell.”

And the Supervisors went unto their Managers saying,“It is a container of excrement, and it is very strong, Such that none may abide by it.”

And the Managers went unto their Directors saying,“It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide by its strength.”

And the Directors spoke among themselves saying to one another,“It contains that which aids plants growth, and it is very strong.”

And the Directors went to the Vice Presidents saying unto them,“It promotes growth, and it is very powerful.”

And the Vice Presidents went to the President, saying unto him,“This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigor Of the company With very powerful effects.”

And the President looked upon the Plan And saw that it was good,And the Plan became Policy.

Real Life Business Lessons – #1 No. The customer is not always right. Doubt it? What about the one who abuses your staff and takes items they did not purchase even if they did buy other things? #2 It is better to keep customers happy than to have to pay money in the form of advertising and give aways and such to attract new ones. #3 If you lose the trust of your customers by not telling them the truth about your products then you will lose customers. #4 If you want to bring in good customers who are also frequent customers then you should pay your employees well and treat them well so they are yet another reason for people to come to your business. #5 These are lessons for other parts of your life as well. #6 Treat yourself well and remember that your life is not only your job or career but it does mean that you have to treat everyone else as well as you want to treat yourself. A better life for everyone makes for better employees and happier customers. #7 If you are living for your job and not for yourself and the lives of others then you are doing it wrong. Stop and fix it or get another job that allows you to do so. Your life will be better and you will do better work as well. #8 Never trust anyone who does not like pets or that several pets do not like. That goes for bosses and employees and customers. #9 Your views on race or religion or gender or lifestyle are not supposed to be forced upon your customers or your employees. You will often have better employees and more customers if you remember that almost everybody is happier and more productive when they respect each other. #10 If you overwork your employees they will quickly do poorer work over all and the good ones and the smart ones will simply leave. What will your workforce be like then?

According to Genesis Noah took a lot more than two of each animal.

“And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female” (Genesis 6:19cf. 7:15). It seems that fewer people, however, are aware that God also instructed Noah, saying, “You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth” (Genesis 7:2-3). According to Bible critics, these verses are contradictory. Not so. The clean beasts and birds entered the ark “by sevens” (KJV), while the unclean animals went into the ark by twos. There is no contradiction here. Genesis 6:19 indicates that Noah was to take “two of every sort into the ark.” Then, four verses later, God supplemented this original instruction, informing Noah in a more detailed manner to take more of the clean animals. If a farmer told his son to take two of every kind of farm animal to the state fair, and then instructed his son to take several extra chickens and two extra pigs for a barbecue, would anyone accuse the farmer of contradicting himself?
