That is the problem, no incentive. Hated school, but as an adult, I felt my factory was not gonna last long and I went to night school for programming, I had incentive, a paycheck!! Sure enough, it was bought and closed and I became a programmer. Now people say paying kids to learn is wrong, but would you learn your job if not for a paycheck? Don’t tell me how you love your job so much either, without a paycheck, you wouldn’t be doing it!!
I already knew how to read when I entered first gade, and spoke both English and German. I was appalled to discover I had to go to school for another eleven years. Mum said I made quite a few impassioned speeches about the subject.

There’s a difference of opinion on the number of planets. (Some people think Pluto shouldn’t have been delisted…)

Depends on whether or not you consider a tassel and diploma lovely gifts.

But if you don’t get the answers right, Joe, you may end up in “Jeopardy”!

Eight or maybe nine. Two: the top side and the bottom side. “She put harvest on under her jacket.”
Maybe I’m not smarter than a fifth grader.

Just getting exposed to new things (facts and knowledge) is (or should be?) reward enough.

Reflecting on all the 70s-era game shows I watched, all the parting gifts were, indeed, lovely!
