Pirate: A year? My, how time flies! i would have thought you would have this filthy oil mess cleaned up by now. Well, good luck with it. Punk: I have a sinking feeling.
^They did, but after engaging in a big PR campaign to convince folks they would do what was needed to clean up the spill and compensate all those who were harmed, they’ve quietly done an about face and are doing their best to avoid fully taking responsibility.
Aw, gee whiz. And here I thought we were making some progress with Bropst. How long will it take for him to get over this and understand the definition of “murder”. As for the claim process, did we all forget that BP handed over $20B to the feds to pay the claims, and any arguments about it should be with Feinberg, not BP? Oh, but wait. It’s easier and more fun to bash BP than Obama’s appointees, right?
Actually, the money wasn’t handed over to the Feds… It was put in a trust that Fienberg administrates. Though there was never any statement that a) that would be enough or b) that would be the end of it.
Yes there are a lot of complaints about how slowly Feinberg is moving.
BP paid Congress over a million dollars to look the other way on the oil spill and find some other patsy to take the blame and clean it up. Even Boehner has said the PUBLIC should pick up the tab, not BP.
Yet BP still gets a $10 Billion tax break for polluting and is now suing Transocean for $40 Billion.
Yes, BP was supposed to put $20Bn into escrow. That, they decided would be over a several year time frame. They as the issue faded behind Lybia and Egypt and thugnocants giving away the treasury to their fascist buddies, BP has quitely exitied stage left, leaving behind their wet willies to demonize anyone who tries to make a claim for actual losses.
^^If Feinberg was a Bush appointee he’d have the government pick up the tab as opposed to having BP set up a fund. Somehow the government would be at fault and we’d be paying BP for clean up.
The Gulf damage is and will for long time, still being assessed. West of New Orleans, less oil, and problem (they’re called currents), but damage is spreading. Which is the same “problem” with the claims and paying out the piddling amount to be dispersed, all those lining up to collect from the golden goose make sorting out the true victims from the weasels more difficult. Just like sorting out profiteers from victims with the TARP money BUSH handed out!

I realize it far from politicaly correct, but when is Oliphant going to depict Obama as the fox attacking the tar babby (Libya)?

Anyone who wants to defend BP’s actions is either on their payroll or seriously deranged… or both.
