Dog: What's up pussycat? Cat: Oh, I'm just writing a tender memoir of my long-ago affair with JFK... it's filled with pathos and sad, wistful longing. Dog: You had an affair with JFK!? Cat: Why not? We were in love - he said so. Dog: He told that twenty times a day to all the others. And him with a bad back and all... Cat: OTHERS!!? Dog: Gee, I'm sorry, pussycat. I didn't mean to... y'know. Well, I thought you would have heard... Cat: OH, how could he? He told me I was special! Punk: What a nice respite from endless Mitts and Santorums.
Yes, it was a time when people looked to what a person/politician did for the people and the country and, more or less, allowed them to have a private personal life…well as compared to today…and when something did get out most would have rather laughed about it rather than try to make it a National issue. But I am sure that 50 yrs from now someone will look back and lament even about these times…Aaah, “the more things change the more they are the same”. French Proverb.
