So is that considered “breaking the fourth wall”? I mean, he’s not addressing us, but he is acknowledging that he’s in a comic strip.

How long until Schroeder is the catcher on Charlie Brown’s baseball team (where he just walks to the pitcher’s mound and tosses Charlie Brown the ball)?

Schulz goes self-reflexive. There’s another strip where Charlie Brown describes Lucy’s eyes as two dots of India ink.

Later, Rocky and Bullwinkle and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles often said something about their shows just being cartoons.

I don’t recall Schroeder being quite so verbal prior to today’s strip.

I hear “Family Circus” has an opening.

Schroeder did leave the comic briefly in the late ’60’s, to stand in for Billy (while he was out with pneumonia) in the Family Circus.

That’s the only time I know of when the strip was self-referential (if that’s the right word!)

Your piano playing would be highly valued over at “9 Chickweed Lane,” but the goings-on over there are often unsuitable for someone your age.

Yeah, but you might have to pitch for it, Shermy! :D

Unfortunately for poor Schroeder – it isn’t really clear what comic strip would appreciate his perfect pitch.

Hmm. Both Peanuts strips today are about a transfer of one kind or another.

Do not like Schroeder’s realization that he’s in a comic strip. Can’t imagine why Schulz did that.

I thought “Pitch Perfect” was about baseball for a little while there.

I was just wondering how the Brits read this. I mean, they drop articles from their sentences all the time — he’s in hospital or they are on holiday — so “I’ve got perfect pitch” WOULD mean the same as “I’ve got A perfect pitch” to them.
