Sorry, Lucy van Pelt, but I think the first (fictional) female “mayor” of the U.S. was either Susie Derkins or Lisa Simpson.
Whoever is playing catch with good ol’ Charlie Brown is trying pull a fast one on him. Gotta give credit to Chuck on making the catch with his mitt.
Lucy for mayor! I hope she’ll be able to work on the national fussbudget.
Baseball ain’t your forte, Charlie Brown!
She just qualified.
I think she is VP now!
And they will create that office just for you, Lucy!
Hey, I remember when, right after 9/11, Rudy Giuliani was called “America’s Mayor” over his oversight in dealing with the catastrophic events of New York City. He seems to have tarnished his reputation when he fell in with the wrong crowd. And boozing.
Nothing like the feel of the first football in the mitt for baseball season.
I don’t see a date on this, but that’s an interesting thing for Charlie Brown to say since so many cities and states are electing their first female mayor or governor these days.
And the political career of MTG begins….
Felisa Rincon de Gautier was the first elected female mayor of a city in the United States. She became mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico in the fifties.
Charlie Brown caught a football!
