Where’s the black??
Happy (hic!) New Year.
The same thing is showing for this ’toon on the ArcaMax site…
Happened on Ginger Meggs too.
I can almost remember the dialogue…..but not quite. Maybe if I stare at it some more.
Is this an Ansel Adams joke?
This can’t be right
LOL…. someone skipped a step
The printing press ran out of black ink.
It’s maybe more entertaining without the black.
I just checked the Go comics archives… this was from January 6th, 1974, if you want to read it.
It is not at all funny today but I understand the need to conserve resources now and then.
The strip appears not to have loaded correctly – is it me or are others having trouble ?
Click on the Calendar button under the comic and go to 6 Jan 1974. This is the comic albeit in black and white, when you look at it the day before, it will be yesterdays one.
I kind of like it.
Printer has run out of black ink.
The black can be found here:https://peanuts.fandom.com/wiki/January_1974_comic_strips
Oddly, there, it is the color that is missing. Go figure…
This was in my local paper, Lucy pats Linus head every time she walks by to make sure he stays shorter than her!
This is how I feel when I get up on some mornings.
One cell short.
I also notice that the original 1974 strip had those extra ‘Sunday panels.’
Whoops, must have run in to a police person….
Love it when everything is automated through computers. They work, except when they don’t. Not sure if the programming can be written to look for these sort of errors.
It is like watching a negative, but with colors… good grief Charlie Brown!
Is this a Peanuts strip or an episode of The Twilight Zone?
You don’t say…
My first husband worked in the plate-room at the newspaper. This is a plate issue. Somehow they didn’t use the black plate. Only the yellow, blue and red ones. (There are only 4, black being the 4th).
Now’s the chance to write our own strip.
What happened to the outlines and words?
I think this might be what it’s supposed to look like
This is a do-it-yourself comic strip!
Comics by the numbers?
Must be a peanut allergy.
I can see how this happens in today’s automated world. With thousands of comics to get out, who has time to inspect all of them? What is surprising is that, so far in my readings, this is the only strip I’ve seen it on. Usually, when software goes ka-blowie (a technical term), it fails across the board.
Normally when software works sometimes and not others, it’s the data being fed to it that is the issue. I’m not sure how that applies here.
Poll: What was your reaction when you learnt Linus and Lucy had a younger brother?
I thought that teabag I found in the hallway looked suspicious – but free tea.
Oops… 2020’s revenge!
Curse you 2021! A pandemic affecting comic strips!
Is this a do it yourself strip?
It’s the ghost of Peanuts past.
It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.
Houston, we have a problem…
Black Lines Matter
This is worse than Geech!
i sorta like it this way…..just ‘fill in the blanks’….
WOW! Pastel Peanuts !
This is the strip. Ironically, without any colors
This usually happens when I print photos. The culprit is the black ink nozzle being clogged.
I think I saw this issue on a Garfield once
Nicely surreal! We can write our own script!
This has happened with a cartoon here where the creator is alive and visits the comments section every day, and he had a heck of a time getting GoComics to fix the situation which lasted for weeks.
What Happened to the cartoon?
I’m actually enjoying some of the comments more than the B&W version of today’s comic.
It was from January 6, 1974. https://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1974/01/06
Dude, I’m tripping…
Looks negative to me.
This is actually an Andy Warhol original.
How miserable having her for a sister, huh?
Try playing basketball Linus
Better hope he stays smaller than you, Lucy…you know what they say about payback…
LOL. They fixed the Comic. People From the Future who read today’s comment are going to think we were all tripping balls.
After closer scrutiny, it appears as though Lucy Van Pelt’s dress scene has been attacked by the tongue of a Jacksonville Jaguar who had eaten blue cotton candy instead of zebra muscles.
Doesn’t work that way.
Uh the way you grow does not agree with that fact
When this came out originally, my older brother decided that it was a great idea, and started pushing down on the top of my head.
He grew to 6’4", I only reached 5’4". Take that as you will.
Huh. They fixed it.
A different image search found this.
Not as helpful.
Did anyone manage to get this strip with black?
