Looks like Spike has also never been to Boston in the fall.

Along came Dave Loggins, or better still, The Standells.

He just wrote he is need – less, that he doesnot need anything. Why is he sad then ?

Anyone else now mentally humming Hoyt Anton’s “Never Been to Spain”?

Nope; no desire to go back east to Boston… Just keep waiting for someone going out west to Needles….

Personally, I’d rather hitch a ride to Hollywood.

The song was written by the late great Hoyt Axton whose mother Mae wrote Heartbreak Hotel.

I see Spike has not yet lost the weight he put on while staying at the Van Pelts.

Beagles apparently have a very poor sense of direction.Needles,California apparently once had a military base.

I have trouble understanding why anyone would go to Needles on purpose. (sorry, er, residents of Needles… what Do you call yourselves?)

Look out for a coyote or an Acme product.

Nobody makes an un-necessary detour to Needles.

Looks like Spike is already in Arizona, so it’s a little late to change his destination. But if he’s made up his mind to go to Boston, he had better move to the other side of the road.

I made the detour to Needles when I drove cross-country years ago. The only reason was to purchase a couple postcards and send them to my siblings postmarked at the Needles PO. I scribbled “Spike says hi!” on the postcards.

At least someone could drop him off a canteen of water
