I guess Linus should be happy that Lucy does not slug him or give him her “5 reasons” (aka her fist) to get him to admit that she is always right!

If he counted 13 billion snowflakes at the rate of one per second, it would still take 412 years.

Oh yeah, Lucy? What was the whole number then?

Interesting, they’ve gone back to 1969 strips, skipping the Peppermint Patty and Marcie football strips.

Liar, liar, pants on fire!

Gosh! Even if Linus is a fast counter and can count 5 snowflakes in 1 second, without counting a snowflake twice, and counting every second, 24 hours a day without going to sleep, it still would have taken him 82 years to count all 13 billion!

The snowflake number is ever changing. Just as the shapes of the snow crystal is always different from every other snow crystal. So Linus’s number is correct for that instant. But it is off in the next instant.

Lucy wins. Flawless victory. FATALITY.

Thirteen billion, four thousand and three. If both of them got that amount, it must be right.

I see, so Linus does all the work and Lucy wants to take all the credit…

When did he have the time to count every individual snowflake?

And kids, during what time interval did this count occur? Or, is this an estimate of the total expected snowfall? Just curious.

Yeah right, Lucy. I don’t believe Linus’s claim to begin with, but I know you didn’t get thet count. Your claim is typical of someone who wants to look like they did the work and impress others.

Saw the same thing with one of my sisters on a book they knew I enjoyed reading and they figured I’d be impressed they had read it too. I would have been too, had they actually read it. When I tried asking their opinion on a particular event in the book they tried telling me it wasn’t in the book. Changed their tune when I took their copy and turned to chapter and page without any hard work. Finally admitted to only reading the first and last chapters.

First fibber doesn’t stand a chance.

This is the first Peanuts strip that ever reminded me of an episode of The Goon Show. From The Mysterious Punch-up-the-conker (February 7, 1957):
