The song “Junk Food Junkie” went to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976, same year as this comic. Junk food had become a hot topic around then.

The bigger question here, of course, is who was dumb enough to put Peppermint Patty in charge of ANYTHING.
When I was at sleepaway camp, my folks sent me Nestle’s Quik, and those little boxes of cereal from Kellogg’s.
I wouldn’t add in P.S.J.F. anyway.

I remember it well. Senior in college at that time.
Pretzels and veggie chips are a DELICIOUS, HEALTHIER alternative to potato chips and candy FYI . . . although I AM 35, so maybe my adult tastes are showing with the veggie chips? (I DO love candy too much though.)
