The murder rate in the USA is up over 30% (bear in mind that 130% of 6 deaths per 100,000 isn’t a whole lot more, bad as it is). And it seems to be at least partly driven by random and completely thoughtless shootings.

There is a theoretically correct answer to the problem of short attention-span idiots with guns… even when you factor in my belief that you can’t cure “dumb”. But the Supremes ruled that EVERYONE has a right to any gun of their choice, any time, any where. And so that answer is not available. Too bad.

When I was in Social Studies class (or Civics, if you prefer), I was taught that my rights end where yours begin. That still seems like a good way to sort it out.
