Those 450mm turkeys would be no match for the five thousand or so that Ron Klain has mobilized.

That’s a little over 17 persons per turkey…should be able to handle it unless the turkeys develop some useful weapons. But they’re turkeys!

If they did turn on everyone it would be like the movie “Free Birds” where two turkeys one played by Owen Wilson, used a time machine and went back to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu and they did by making pizza the main item. I was never a fan of turkey, I always liked fried chicken.

The human population recently passed the 8-billion mark, and a simple division says there are about 18 of us for each turkey. So we don’t have much to worry about, especially since we currently kill and eat most of them before their first birthday.

Aggressive turkeysDon’t let turkeys intimidate youWild turkeys that become accustomed to humans and human-associated foods, like bird seed, are likely to lose their fear of people and can cause damage or attempt to dominate people. Once bold behavior is established, it can be very difficult to change. Don’t hesitate to scare or threaten a bold, aggressive turkey with loud noises, swatting with a broom or water sprayed from a hose. A dog on a leash is also an effective deterrent.

Turkeys that repeatedly challenge or attack people may ultimately have to be destroyed. To avoid these consequences, remember to remove all food sources and help keep turkeys wild. It is rarely an option to trap and relocate nuisance turkeys.
