“You don’t want to hire anybody, do you”, often heard by interviewers from persons who do not really want to work but are there to say they were just to keep their unemployment!
Never be the fix-it guy!!!! Anything and everything can show up on your desk, mostly unrelated to your job description, and you won’t get compensation. Not a bonus, not a gift, not even a thank you note. That’s why the government and big corporations end up having the worst of the worst. If you show skills and goodwill, you end up being abused. You have to say “Sorry, not my job” or “Not sure… check with my manager” while you try to finish your crossword puzzle :D
I am currently the only employee in a sub-department called “Fix It.” There’s even a big sign that says, “Fix It.” The usual work force for that is 2 people, a part time and a full- time. Since the full-timer quit last year, it’s just part-time me. I’m pretty well swamped.

Next, in walks Andy Capp for his interview. After, interviewer opens desk drawer and drinks booze to deaden the pain of his job.

I had 2 interviews in one week. Cracked jokes at both, and got offers from both. I realized I can’t “out serious” anybody
