A stupidity filter , what a great idea! The only problem is the stupid people do not know they are stupid and getting them to use it would be a problem!
The dad of one of my high school buddies said he had a “crud filter” on his radio, and he would set it so that his car radio wouldn’t play the music he didn’t like. When my daughter was in middle school, I installed one, but it never seemed to work. and that’s how I know what Brittany Spears and the Spice Girls sound like.
I know that a lot of public figures feel they need to be active on social media, but either don’t trust themselves to use it in a way that won’t get them into trouble, or just don’t don’t want to waste their time on it. So they hire assistants to manage their accounts for them. If I noticed someone suddenly making a lot more sense than usual, I would assume that was the reason.
I wrote a post for a FB group. I used AI to correct the grammar. The post got kicked out as written by a bot. So I rewrote it as I saw fit and it was accepted.
Stupidity filter: Tell people that putting their phone in the microwave charges it. If they are stupid enough, they’ll do it, and not be able to post on social media anymore.
Stupidity, like beauty, is an ‘in the eye of the beholder’ experience so the filter should be applied on the receiving end.
Fortunately there are means to accomplish that. Choosing your company and refusing to, or at least try hard not to, get agitated when someone obviously is trying to provoke you is a good start.

If stupidity filters were a real thing, we would be living in a much better world.

A more rational and effective solution: cognitive therapy.
And a return to teaching critical thinking. Been missing from academia for about 50 years.
