Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for October 26, 2012
October 25, 2012
October 27, 2012
Transcript:
Phoebe: What about if I dress up as the HORSEMAN OF THE APOCALYPSE? Marigold: Three things. One, there are FOUR horsemen. Two, I am NOT aa horse. Phoebe: That's only two things. Marigold: Is "NO" a thing?
Of course, part of this is a question of custom in Marigoldâs country. How, for example, do the hnau there feel about humans (or anthropoids, generally) riding on unicorns? Is it common? Acceptable? Rude? Blasphemous? Like Columbus, it seems, Phoebe and we are on the way to discover a new world, and a treasury of new things appertaining.
But Marigold your also not a camel. I think it is ok to be a horse. However in Unicorn land you donât dress up as the horseman of the Apocalypse, The horseman of the Apocalypse dresses up as YOU!
Considering whom we are dealing with (and, pray excuse the pun, the fact that Marigold also seems to be a âclothes horseâ ::grins::) perhaps Marigold should dress up as a Royal Princess (then again, arenât all princesses âroyalâ?) with Phoebe dressing up and being Princess Marigoldâs little Lady-in-Waiting attendant.

True, she is not a horse, but she could dress up as one. After all, Halloween is about dressing up as something you are not.

In other words, ânoâ is the third thing because she disagrees to the horseman of the Apocalypse idea.

Oh yeah, they can be like âEarly Pimplesâ or âMythical Mischiefâ ..
Like, you know, âEmbarrassing Personal Problemsâ, âCruelty to Animalsâ and âAnswer phonesâ )

She could claim to be a horse dressing up as a unicorn â or she could go as a monoceros.
Pharmakeus Ubik over 12 years ago
She could wear a narwhal costume, with Phoebe riding side saddle as a mermaid.

I love the third panel, you can almost hear the snobby accent.

Maybe she would prefer the headless horseman? She has the vanity of a horse. Mine seems to think he is Godâs gift for mares.

Zap some fake wings onto her and say sheâs a Faerie
No, scratch thatâŠknowing Phoebe, sheâd probably try and FLY with them
Stephen Gilberg over 12 years ago
Dress as Schmendrick.
