I’ve made jokes about making my mom put a coin in the “sweetie jar” every time she calls me “sweetie” in public.

Max has a point about the “extra syllables” part. People like me just want to get stuff over with and so we call people and things by short versions. Garf for Garfield.Cal and Hobb for Calvin and Hobbes.And finally, Pheebs and Mari.

Wait a minute there Phoebe. Just WHAT was that last statement?!

Max may be incredibly smart, but he’s also being incredibly dense. Ir maybe he’s just faking because he doesn’t want a girlfriend.

If Max had two fathers, Phoebe’d suggest one being “Dad” and the other “Pop”; still only one syllable in order to not waste time on extra syllables.

Too bad neither moms were present for Phoebe’s last comment:-D.

That’s what I stated the day before yesterday and she raises a good point.

I think Dana is writing this convo between Pheobe and Max based on the comments section from each day’s strip since this story started. That or the questions raised about how kids refer to 2 parents of the same gender are always the same. But what if one of them were NON-BINARY?! [Duhn-duhn-duhn] Answer: they’d figure it out.

(Reads final panel) Uh oh…

Phone is just great today telling Max how she she feels. He is certainly the ‘deer in the headlights’ look and Phoebe has those lights on high beam. Go Phoebe! What fun!
