I recall a Calvin and Hobbes strip where Calvin plans to get rich quick with corn kernels. Hobbes wondered how does that work. Calvin responds by putting them under his pillow, the tooth fairy will mistake the kernels for teeth and will give Calvin quite a load of cash.

I did the same as Opal only I took a piece of off white paper, folded it just so, made a few marks with a red pencil to look like blood and taped it up. It looked like a tooth and my mom said she had to look at it twice.

I do not believe that I am familiar with any laws concerning the tooth fairy.

When I was a kid, the tooth fairy price was a dime. I wonder what it is up to now.

Seems he has learned something worthwhile. Not easy to build reasonable circumstance onto fact.

When my son was young and lost a tooth at school and couldn’t find it to give it to the Tooth fairy, I had him write a letter explaining the circumstances and put it in place of his lost tooth. I still have the letter.

Since she really did lose a tooth, I think the tooth fairy was okay with the substitution.

I tried that with a kernel of corn when about Nelson’s age and got nothing.

A quarter? With inflation a tooth is worth much more these days.

I am that age also, and I think you are right. We got dimes. Our kids got quarters. I remember hearing of other kids who got more.
