Earl: Tell a really funny joke to make Opal laugh, and maybe she’ll have to get up to the bathroom, too. Cruel, but effective. (Such revenge is a p-ss best served WARM.)
Well, the important thing, Opal, is that you’ve found yet another reason to criticize Earl. If there were an Olympic competition in Spouse Criticizing, I’m not saying that Opal would win the gold, but she’d certainly medal.
My Sunday newspaper has one more panel than this one. It shows Earl snuffling himself awake, then in the next panel saying “UGH!”. In this version it’s clear that he has sleep apnea. Many people think they wake up because they have to go to the bathroom. In fact it’s the gasping for air that awakens them, and then they determine they need to go. Voice of experience…
Well she is right about one thing. She should not say anything. People do not listen to unsolicited advice so if he does not ask, there is no point in whining. You are just making both of you more unhappy.
That speaks of me each night and I get up more during the night then Earl and I do exercise during the day. I have certain exercises that is needed for my left lower hip, when weather is nice I am walking further trying to meet the distance of church I go to, and next I have stay fit exercise equipment been off for 9 months be few more months, added bonus, the left above hip bone fracture has healed just soft bone soon one more month. What a long journey been. Most will not know what I talk of.

I need to drink a lot of water on weekend nights, because otherwise I might just not get out of bed until Monday morning.

An old Maxwell House container beside the bed reduces exercise greatly.
(And keeps the floors dry.)

Opal shouldn’t be talking about him getting exercise. She needs to speak for herself, considering her 280lb weight!

Its called an enlarged prostate, something he can’t help. Yes drinking no fluids after 6 p.m. would help, though.
