Opal i don’t believe you. A woman never runs out of things to say.

Earl seems to have plenty things to say to his grandson, although most of them are lies. Uh, untrue stories.

Earl has a good reason to be suspicious of her silence. The calm before the storm!

Finally after all these years, peace and quiet. True wedded bliss!

Earl will never run out of stupid things to say.

Look at her lap, obviously the Cat got her tongue!

My Lady Wife and I could be quiet together for hours at a time. I think that was a big factor in how long we were together. She passed away 10 years ago. I still miss her.

ran out of things or realized that most of them would be shot down by Opal?

Me: “Did I tell you about……..?”Wife: “Yes. Three times already.”

At least I am trying!

I’m glad I didn’t have a mouth full of coffee when I read this!

I ran out of things to say too.

Forty years ago, Earl probably got tired of Opal interrupting him every time he started to say something.

This strip has run out of things to say.

I have run out of stories so I keep repeating the old ones! They tell me "What’s your name, Pete or Repeat?!

There is something soothing about being in the silent presence of two deeply in love each other.

Now I know that this is just a comic. This would never happen in real life.

When nothing is left to say or do, / And nothing’s left except just you two, / Well, then take a rest. / You’re really quite blessed, / If you just remind him or her that “I love you.”

“Don’t you have anything to say to me?”

“About what? We’ve been in each other’s company for the last 72 hours; you know everything that’s happened.”

Yeah, after 40 years, 8 of it retired, conversation slows down some……

Earl has all the answers…….all wrong!

This is one of those ponderous “COL” moments with Opal. (Cat on my lap is COL)

I have nothing to say but don’t let it stop me.

I am THAT dedicated to talking.

Looks like the excitement has gone out of their marriage, divorce in the offing?…

I’ve been married 43 years and neither of us have run out of things to say because life keeps happening.

Both of them got in some smack. Awesome!

My husband and I take turns being the one with nothing to say. The switch back and forth can be 3 minutes or 3 weeks.

Muffin is looking very content receiving that brushing.

Can’t share to FaceBook anymore? That’s a shame.

If my wife and I ever run out of things to say, I guess we’ll just start over. But after 38 years we still like to talk to each other, so I’m not really concerned about it.
