Plant one or two zucchini and they die of loneliness. Plant three of them and it’s a CONTEST to see how many they can set overnight when you aren’t looking. We gave up planting ’em: There are plenty of free ones in the neighborhood.
Was that click the sound of the safety going to the off position, the hammer being cocked, or the pin on the grenade being pulled? Late night zucchini deliveries tend to elicit different responses.
Be careful skulking around in the dark. You’ll run into all the other neighbors ‘distributing’ zucchini to the neighborhood. Some, infiltrating from outlying neighborhoods. Just bring me the freshly baked zucchini bread and I’ll forgive you.
I would love someone giving me zucchini. I only recently discovered “zoodles” and like to turn cucumbers and zucchini into zoodles. I’m not particularly health conscious, but cold zoodles tossed with oil and vinegar are refreshing in hot weather….and fun to say :)
It’s a little-known fact that in the real life episode that inspired a scene in The Godfather, it was actually a bushel of zucchini they put in Woltz’s bed.
If someone left a bag of zucchini on my porch, I would make a BUNCH of zucchini bread to keep in the freezer. Then I would give them a loaf or two plus the recipe so they could use it for next year’s crop!
Fred Sanford: We could have a little pork and beans now and a little zucchini later. Or a little zucchini now and a little pork and beans later. Or if you like the pork and beans, you can have them and I’ll take the zucchini or I can take the pork and beans and you the zucchini so what will it be? Zucchini or pork and beans?
We had a neighbor who loved to fish, but hated to eat them. I’d take a shopping bag of zucchini any day over opening the door and finding a plastic bag full of bluefish.
Of course, throwing them away rather than giving them to people who didn’t ask for them makes “no sense”?. In truth, putting them on a table at the street with a sign saying “free zucchinis” (in this case) usually gets rid of all surplus vegetables quickly.
Zucchini, itself, I have a tough time with, but, if she were passing out zucchini bread, I’d have my door wide open, and a shopping cart to pile it in.

Be careful how you hold zucchini, because it might look like a weapon.

Give them to me and they’ll come back as zucchini bread. I’ll also add it to vegetable soup. Maybe some will find its way into a casserole.

Not everyone loves zucchini. And not everyone loves (the) Pickles.

Why do people grow so much zucchini, if it’s so hard to get rid of?

So you do get zucchini from pickles.

We have found that growing zucchini in pots restricts their number and size.

The problem of taking zucchini to the neighbors at night is that when you return home there will be zucchini on your porch.
