There really is something backward about living…. We spend the first five years of our lives barely able to walk, then spend the next twenty on our butts trying to develop/establish a career that will hopefully feed us and our activities for the next fifty. THEN, when we have all the knowledge, a few bucks and finally time to DO all these things we’ve dreamt of, the body says “HAHAHA! Sit down”. I am not aging gracefully. I will NOT go quietly into THAT good night..
Husband in his middle 50s was burned out at work. He would come home and take a nap every afternoon. So I stupidly talked him into quitting his job and I would keep working while he tried to build up our handcrafted business. My accounting clients died (down to 4 of them) and the craft business still has not taken off close to 20 years alter.
But we live relatively like children (especially since Covid started and mostly never had to be anywhere at a specific time). We wake towards noon and go to bed around 3 or 4 am.

Actually, taking a nap is at the top of the list of things many old pluggers want to do.

It’s not always ‘want to,’ it is ‘need’ to.

When I was little, my parents made me go to bed at 9. I told myself, when I’m grown up, I will stay up as late as I want! Turns out, it’s 9 o’clock!
