The piece of tofu I tried once didnāt make it anywhere near close to half good, and no amount of hot sauce could have possibly made it taste better to meā¦.
Not hot sauce, catsup. Pluggers from the Midwest [and truck stops] know that catsup will cover every cooking mistake or bad menu choice. Hot sauce may cover it temporarily, but it will remind you about it for a long time.
In my mind (and mouth) there is NOTHING that would improve the flavor of ātofuā, liver, avocado, or asparagus. They are all the most vile creations ever put on this earth ! ! !
Tofuās not bad, if you have it at a good Chinese restaurant (real Chinese, not Americanized Chinese). But I will say that thereās at least one thing Iāve eaten (more accurately, attempted to eat) that no amount of hot sauce could make palatable: chitlins.
next time, try a bit of wasabi and soy sauce, with some sliced spring onions. yum. better yet, come to japan and have some real tofu. or just keep complaining about the cr@p they sell in the u.s. and put ketchup on it (what a waste of ketchup)ā¦ āŗ

Thereās a fine line between enough hot sauce and too much hot sauce, and you only find that line after youāve crossed it.

Though this is true, over the years hot sauce has managed to lay a fast track through the digestive system.
