I’ve always thought it strange that we cut off a living organism’s reproductive organs and stick them in water. They last much longer if we leave them where they are.
Bring home flowers.Occasionally, I do. And it is always with a heart felt purpose. Why is it interpreted as responsive guilt?Taking her bowling works better. But that’s just me.
When my husband and I first got together, I told him not to waste his money on cut flowers that could only be enjoyed a week or so when it cost less to get the entire plant and enjoy it for months or years. Unfortunately, I think he only heard the first part of that statement because his first Valentine’s Day gift to me was a fishing pole. I like fish and I like the outdoors but I’m not good at sitting still waiting for one to commit suicide on a hook for me.

What Carmen said reminds me of Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand duet “You Don’t Bring me Flowers Anymore.”

Is she reading a Cosmo magazine? Any guy would know better then to try sitting next to his lady if one of those magazines is in sight!

Last time I brought my wife flowers, she said, “Do you know how expensive these things are?”

Carmen would really perk up if the flowers were from a firefighter.
