   Well, Irving is getting a good taste of what is to come if he stays with Cathy. Here she is thinking “It could have been me” when she is with another man. Not really a good thing to say – especially if it was the 2 carats that prompted “It could have been me!”.

   I’m with Irving on this one. Wear what you have and don’t bother shopping for something for one occasion. That presumes you have something suitable to wear for all occasions of course. Vaughnrl2003 is good with blue jeans and a button down shirt.

   Second negative test today so braved the great outdoors and watch the Fall Fair parade. Really enjoyed it since I did not think I would be able to see it this year.

   It is a beautiful end of summer – well fall really – day with sunshine, 70F, and a bit of a breeze. The Fall Fair grounds looked really crowded so happy for them. I hope your day is beautiful too.

   That look does not fit anything in that list of adjectives and certainly not dignified. One look at her and Alex will be happy he is marrying someone else.

   I don’t quite believe it – my covid test today is -ve. One more -ve test tomorrow and I can consider giving my wife a hug again. I doubt I will get to the fall fair this weekend though as that might be a bit risky – I really don’t want to infect anyone else.

   My vote is for #3 at any age. Not sure if the first two outfits qualify as elegant at all. Of course I may have thought differently 50 years ago.

   Thank you for all the good wishes. It seems they have really helped me (although the Paxlovid may have helped a little). I am feeling pretty good today and the +ve test line is so faint it can hardly be seen indicating that it might not be too much longer before I can get close to my wife – who continues to test -ve (and that is good). I am just glad this happened so long after her hip replacement as it would not have been easy to help her out as much as I did in the first few weeks. She is quite capable of looking after herself now – even being able to pick stuff off the floor (that was my main job). All in all it is a good day today. I hope yours is good too.

   Ah, so Cathy’s reason for going to Alex’s wedding becomes apparent. “I have to look the best I have ever looked” gives it away. She wants to show Alex what he missed. I wonder if Alex’s invite to Cathy is for the same reason.

   Not a good day today. Woke up feeling stuffed and a little dizzy. Worst fears came true – I tested +ve for covid for the second time this year – and a month before I qualified for the new vaccine. The drugstore delivered my paxlovid already so I should feel much better tomorrow – but still cannot go anywhere – like the board of directors meeting tomorrow. Guess I will be Zooming again. My wife is still -ve and we hope it stays that way. She is 6.5 weeks into her recovery from a hip replacement and does not want to miss her next physio appointment. I guess this is just one of the negative side effects of having a suppressed immune system But then I will take Covid over the alternative – my immune system trying to kill me again.

    I know exactly how Irving feels. Many decades ago my girlfriend asked me what special day tomorrow was. She was quite upset when I could not answer (I knew it was not her birthday). Turned out to be the 3 month anniversary of our first date. I just don’t pay attention to those kind of details. I was forgiven and we dated for a couple of years. She remained my ‘girlfriend’ until her death two years ago. Oh -she and her husband and my wife and I often went out together until they moved away.

    Another beautiful day – although predicted to be the last we will get for a while. I hope everyone is enjoying it as much as I am.
