I see Cathy needs a little clear space to sort things just as I do. As I read the script I thought it would be a great idea to go out on the patio and read for a while. Looked out the window and it is raining again. Guess I will stay in front of the computer instead.

We had heavy winds for the past couple of days. Checked the retaining wall since the waves were hitting rather heavily and sure enough 3 more blocks have tipped over into the water. Picture a Lego block weighing about 1800 pounds. That is when fell over. Glad we are already planning on rebuilding the wall as soon as the water recedes in the fall or spring. My neighbours rescued a couple of board sections from my dock as the retaining clamps were broken off by the force of the waves. Never underestimate the power of Mother Nature!

Gretchen’s Mom – has it really been 5 years since you moved?? Where has the time gone?

Have a great day and a fantastic weekend. I will probably not be here for a week or so. Heading to Vancouver tomorrow to board a Disney cruise to Alaska on Monday. ‘See’ you all when we get back.

I wear my shoes until they fall apart – which, for some pairs, does not take very long. I wear a non-specialized running shoes (at least that is what I call them) for just about anything. When a new pair gets two scuffed they get moved to either the door to the garage or the basement door to be used as work around the yard shoes. The pair in the worst condition gets tossed in the garbage. I do have a pair of black running shoes to wear in the theatre and one pair of dress shoes. The dress shoes last 15 to 20 years as I seldom wear them. Essentially I purchase a new pair of shoes about once every 2 to 3 years.

    Have a fun day today.

I have shelves of discreet electronic components as well as boxes of completed but unused projects along with many not yet completed but now obsolete circuit boards. That is the room that needs to be sorted the most – but the room with very limited empty flat surfaces to be able to sort.

Every fall it takes 2 to 3 days to clear out the garage to be able to put the cars inside for the winter months. After all, the garage is one big flat surface and most of it gets used. We have parked the cars outside for about 4 weeks now and already it would take a day to clear the garage out.

    Have a fun midweek day.

Sorting things and deciding what to keep and what to discard would be a whole lot easier if I had space to put thing while sorting. Maybe I need a clear space with the rule that anytime I have nowhere else to put the item but in that space I must discard some items.Hmmmm. Somehow I don’t think that will work.

    Please enjoy this fine Tuesday.

I have never thought of renting a storage unit for myself. I know I would never go there to search for something I needed – I would just go buy another one and then have to find space to store it. The two organizations that I belong to that puts on live productions both have rented storage units. No theatre has room for all the stuff that piles up over the years of productions. But both organizations do go through the units looking for what is needed for the next production. One even had a cleanup last fall where we filled a dumpster with everything we thought we would never use again.

Wow! Just spent a few minutes trying to find out which words in my post that were on their banned list. I cannot figure out why a word that means piles higher over time (like snow acc…) should be banned.

I hope everyone had a great Monday.

I feel her pain. I can walk forever but can run in 10 second bursts anyone witnessing my run would call it a slow jog.

Nothing worse to an employee on commission is for someone to waste their time and not purchase anything – especially if they find something they like then go off to the big city to purchase it for a few dollars less. Saw that often with TV’s and sound system at a store where I worked. Even hear a non-customer tell the sales clerk that they really liked the system but would pick it up in Toronto the next week. Over an hour of demoing various sound systems gone to waste.

I am not sure but I am hoping that today is Saturday. Have a fun weekend!

My older daughter worked at a Giant Tiger (low cost everything including clothes) many years ago and she was shocked at how inconsiderate most shoppers were. Yes, leaving tried on clothes on the floor and walking away. That floor was often covered in wet sand and salt in the winter so the clothing could not be put directly back on the rack. Sure glad I was taught to be considerate of others.

Friday already? Wow I seem to have lost at least 2 days this week. Have a great day and a fantastic weekend.

Considering that Cathy has no plans to go anywhere there is swimming it would work for her if the saleslady went over to the sweatsuit counter and picked one that is Cathy’s size and gave it to her calling it a swimsuit. That way Cathy would get the swimsuit she wants.

Moving a little better today. I am able to take a few steps without my cane. The muscle spasms have eased up a lot with one happening every now and again rather than with every move. Glad to be off the morphine – the pain is not bad enough now to justify taking it. Looks like the cruise is a possibility again. Going to miss the week in Banff and Kelowna though. I had to promise my wife we would do that trip and even add a week to explore more of the Rockies.

    Have a fine Thursday today.
