   My ex-MIL had shingles on her back, and said it felt like every nerve was on fire.

   I’ve had the single-dose shingles vax, as well as the two-dose version. Never had any issue with either.

   Then again, going on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds has thrown me for a tired loop for a couple of weeks, so. Every body is just enough different that what affects one person strongly may have no noticeable reaction in another.

   I don’t mind the hat in the least. A few decades back my ex’s aunt was on her deathbed with cancer. She had false teeth, which she refused to let anyone take out. She never went anywhere without them, and didn’t want to be seen without them.

   Two words: nightmare fuel.

   Long ago, I took a sled ride down a hill. I didn’t notice or realize that there was a road track about halfway down. I hit that, and flew the rest of the way down the hill.

   I tried to repeat it, but never managed.
