Why not Dagwood? A case can be made for uncounted main characters—accounting for all the repeats and classics.

I pray for the Woman, and for thy peace as well. May it be a swift recovery.

I fear we may have a flat cat soon. Don’t be such a drama queen, Elvis, for you are only a comedic cat.

I rejoice with the Orb upon thine return to BCN. Thy presence was missed.

Beware, criminals, of the Mighty Blork. I don’t think I need to say what his super power is…I’d probably get the ‘naughty word’ message anyway.

I grieve with thee and send soothing thoughts to help you remember the good times.

Back in the mid-80’s I had stuffy nose and itchy eyes. My ‘Houston’ doctors said ‘get rid of the cats’ and didn’t prescribe anything to help or recommend an over the counter. I kept my fur babies, all 4 of them. I moved to Charleston in 1999 and my new doctor asked me questions about my itchy eyes, running nose, etc. He told me ‘Let me prescribe something to help your allergy so you can keep your kitties’. I swear I heard an angelic chorus doing a rousing start to the Alleluia Chorus.

I grieve with thee on the loss of Castor, and the heartfelt confusion and grieving of his surviving brother, Pollux. May peace comfort you both.

That happened to me in Charleston. About 1/2 way through a big dark cloud came up and it was furiously raining for at least an hour then steady until dark. I lived in Goose Creek, about 5-7 miles from the beach, and on the 5 o’clock news they showed clips from the beach, which we had avoided because of the crowds. Bright sunshine, darkness, then sunshine again, the crowd alternating between cheers and silence. In January I was in the path of totality but I had to move in February to La Marque and we had about 90% coverage and clouds. As the clouds opened up I viewed the eclipse safely on the hood of a car. Wasn’t huge but it was sharp before the next cloud rolled in.

I was in Goose Creek SC when the last path of totality swept through. A friend of hours came down to camp in our living room so he could take pictures. When the sun was almost 1/2 covered clouds boiled out of the north with thunder and lightning and we were barely able to get the telescope and associated equipment under the shelter of the covered walkway of our apartment complex. It kept raining hard through totality and most of the exit of the moon, and the clouds persisted until evening. We watched the eclipse on the TV, and when the local news came on all it was was bragging about how wonderful the eclipse was down on the beach, up in Hanahan, and Goose Creek!!! The bedammt thunderstorm was practically sitting on top of us and virtually stationary! We couldn’t even get outside to appreciate the darkness! Our friend was bummed but made the best of it and we had fun the rest of his visit. Our goal was to move back to Texas before this eclipse popped up. Here it is, less than 3 months until the eclipse for which we were in the path of totality, and I had to get up and move to La Marque, Texas, where it may be 95%. Okay, 95% is good, but it’s probably going to be raining. Sigh. ‘Man proposes, God laughs’ is an apt description of my plans right now. Better luck to the rest of you!!!
