If it’s good enough for Ivanka…..

Newsweek…. “Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter, reportedly asked and was granted permission to sit in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s chair while she and one of her brothers took a tour of the Kremlin during a visit to Russia in 2006, according to a former business associate of the president’s.”

Let’s hope the US has a backup plan, we can’t rely on international businesses to support our interests … and if we do have a backup plan, why didn’t we supply it to Ukraine? …and if we don’t, we’ve learned what to expect from our American oligarch and invest in other options…

The Biden administration asked social media to not engage in spreading misinformation about the covid vaccine. US District Judge Terry Doughty for the Western District of Louisiana, a Trump appointee, prohibited them from asking social media companies to remove alleged misinformation… as Politico reported:

“Doughty also issued a sweeping preliminary injunction barring numerous federal officials and agencies — including Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and all employees of the Justice Department and FBI — from having any contact with social media firms for the purpose of discouraging or removing First Amendment-protected speech.”

The next day, the DOJ requested that Doughty stay his order pending appeal, which he denied; within hours, the DOJ filed a notice of appeal. Ten days later, a three judge panel for New Orleans-based Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals granted a request for a temporary hold on the “far-reaching preliminary injunction”, while it is referred to an appeals panel that will rule on a longer-term stay of Doughty’s order.
