Is The Spook’s real name Bruce?

  2. about 3 hours ago on Wizard of Id

If I recall, he called the king a “fink”.

Yeah, but they’re Domino’s pizzas, so what’s the point?

I live where there are a lot of independent pizza places, most of them very good. if my share is somewhere between 2 and 4 slices, I’m all set.

Domino’s is about the quality level of the frozen pizzas you could get at the grocery. Not bad as such, but nothing to go out for, or even to get delivered.

Face it Lucy, even saying “I can stand the sight of you” wouldn’t be much of a compliment.

No. Had to look it up. But I’d seen the movie, and that triggered an “oh yeah”.

I’ve been more interested in bread since I started making my own. I make some with yeast, also made my own sourdough starter, and have made several loaves of sourdough bread. Have to freeze the extra slices, but it saves a lot of money and tastes better.

I believe you can actually buy novelty money bags with big dollar signs on them. Might be a good choice for a thief. People wouldn’t take it seriously.

I saw the movie once, in German with subtitles. I remember the bit about the sailor telling the journalist about his French girlfriend, but it’s been a while, and I don’t remember a scene with the girl herself. And I definitely don’t remember the bit about the banana skirt. Maybe I suppressed the memory.

Really good movie. Couldn’t actually make me sympathize with the crew, but it did get me to see how things were from their perspective.

Could have given her eggs, and impressed her with how much you’d spent.

    Waste not, want not.
