   The only time I see the clerks turn someone away is when they have a lot of groceries, and the clerk politely says, “sorry, this is express lane”back in the day I was a supplier to grocery stores. We had to have a decent turnover on an item or we replaced it with something that would turn over. It’s all about turns and ROI

    Funny, except In real life the other two people wouldn’t have noticed as they’d be glued to their own phone
