Everyone has their own style. Although some stick with one story/world, some branch out — for example Doonesbury would add characters along the way. However, it sounds like you would prefer another method.

At least with Kipling, it’s not the US citizens, but the Irish (then part of the UK) and other various parts of the UK. :)
I understand. I’m not a real believer in “spirits,” etc., but sometimes things happen that cause you to think, right? I’ve had at least one experience such that I understand that it seems that there’s something out there that can’t be explained by science. I don’t go any further than that myself, but I don’t discount what others say they see, etc.
Longevity is not the only criteria, yes. However, I still think that you could do well.
I have my strips organized alphabetically, so Brewster follows Breaking — they’re both good. :)
