   Almost no one wants to admit that, but yep. When they first pop out, they ain’t cute.Even the most beautiful, adorable babies started out their first few weeks or months as tiny, mutant potato aliens. Though that said, some tiny mutant potato aliens are less potato-like than others.

   When months have gone by and they really ARE cute, you look back at their photos from the first few weeks and you’re like “Oh. Wow. Where’d the potato alien go?”

   Another case in point. “Vast majority”.You have no idea what the election numbers were, do you. I think it’s clear you don’t. You should, and have no excuse not to, but you don’t.

   I have been consuming news from every direction for decades. Reading exchanges of all kinds for decades. Watching what goes on in plain sight for decades.

   Friend, you have no idea what’s been happening in the world.

   This has nothing to do with a “way of thinking”. It’s about things that happen. Period.

   I guarantee you this. The vast majority of those who voted for Trump, including you, have absolutely no idea what you just voted for. Which is, again, inexcusable, but it’s reality. You don’t know what you’ve just enabled and set into motion. And even when the consequences kick in, you still won’t know, even when you feel them. Which you will.

   I’m going to regret this.

   (1. What, specifically, do the Republicans stand for that you support?

   (2. What, specifically, do the Democrats stand for that you oppose? (And more significantly, that you believe poses a threat to our democratic system.)

   No vague insinuations. No innuendo. Specifics. And when I say specifics, I mean things that have actually happened in real life, and that you’ve checked the veracity of beforehand.

   I’m definitely going to regret this.

    Friend, I could go on all day about my issues with the Democrats. All day. All week. What was that about not expecting me to say that? Hm?

    The faults of the Democrats have nothing to do with what the Republicans have become.

    And there is no excuse for not knowing what the Republicans have become.

    One party represents deeply flawed but consistently functional governance operating firmly within the parameters of a normal constitutional democratic republic.

    The other has come to stand for anti-democracy, authoritarianism, theocracy, revanchist oppression, anti-science, white supremacist-adjacent social policy, corporatocracy, extreme wealth redistribution, kakistocracy, rampant miltarism, and state violence.

    That list is not subjective opinion. It’s their open, explicitly stated agenda. They don’t hide it. It’s all published, it’s all public. The twist? They know they can be explicit and public about their goals because they know many people won’t believe them.

    Case in point. You don’t believe me, do you.

    No, you don’t.

    You have no EXCUSE not to, since none of this is secret, but you still don’t.

    That’s exactly why they are able to be so open about it.
