   Those days are now long gone, of caring about the employees. All about the bottom line and profit now. I used to make deliveries & pickups twice a week from Owego to Great Bend, PA years ago for a company in Elmira I worked for, so got to know the area pretty well. Retired in the Pensacola area now, and love it here.

   IBM also had a huge complex in Owego, just a bit West of Endicott, and sold it to Lockheed/Martin/Sikorski. They do installation stuff on military helicopters mostly, and last I heard did work on the fleet of the new Presidential helicopters, that will replace the now very older ones. Not sure, but I think that Johnson City had a big camera factory there at one time, maybe Ansco-G.A.F.?

   Originally from nearby Elmira, NY. Flying there this weekend for my 60th High School reunion. Johnson City was huge in the shoe business, until the cheap imports did it in. IBM was also big in that area, but not so big there now.

   Founded and headquartered in Rochester, NY I believe still Wegman family owned and operated. It has really grown and spread out over the years from its base area. Very highly rated and loved by its customers.
