Based on your description the the 76 Aspen, your statement is doubtful. I guess “just fine” is a relative phrase.”

So, you make a purchase of tens of thousands of dollars and make no provisions to protect your investment against the elements? You must have lots of disposable income.

The NRA is essentially bankrupt due to the incompetence and corruption of their leadership (Wayne Robert LaPierre Jr.) The campaign funds and pressure on politicians who support no changes to the current gun laws are from lobbyists hired by gun manufacturers like Remington. The NRA membership, for the most part, is made up of responsible gun owners who support limited reform such as background checks, waiting periods, and increasing school security. It is the gun manufacturers who strongly oppose anything for fear of a loss in profit and a corresponding drop in stock prices. A lot of money is made on assault weapons and ammunition.

A common experience for me. Unfortunately when my wife and I have been out to dinner, many times we observe entire families (even mom and dad) on their phones for the entire meal. No conversation at all. Several years ago, while in Paris, we saw large groups of young adults in restaurants eating, talking, and laughing and nary a phone in sight. Says a lot about how our culture is changing.
