   I think that’s what the original religious leaders were going for, not us sitting around acting helpless, waiting for a deity to fix our problems. A friend once joined a holy roller type church, and they had this “elite God Squad”, where the members tried to outdo one another on who could be the most helpless, or so it looked to me. One actually bragged about praying to ask what color socks to wear that day! My outlook is more like the famous episode of “Futurama” where Bender meets God- God (or whomever you want), gives us the tools and the capability and free will to use them properly. Or not. Sadly, there’s a whole lot of not.

   It’s one of my all-time faves! The show is dare I say it “Get Smart” good: clean, funny, and clever! (The REAL “Get Smart”, not the fifth season, of which we do not speak, or the movie, where Stupid Sexist Hollywood made up the most ridiculous storyline in the world so they could have Agent99 be 25 years old against Max’s 55!) The animated version of “Corner Gas” is good, too. Wish they’d continue it!

   One easy way to spot a knock off is the hands “tick” as they move, while real Rolex hands move smoothly.

   We once bought a fake Rolex in Mexico for fun and costume, and it actually was a good watch!

   Reminds me of a “Corner Gas” episode, when Brent gives his mom his old MP3 player and loads it up with her favorite old country music tunes. A friend tells the mom she needs to get out of the past and reloads it for her with rap songs. Brent has a fit when he hears his mom singing along, because no one’s going to put their “junk” in his mom’s “trunk”! (“Corner Gas”, for those who have not seen it, is one of the best comedies ever to grace the airwaves. It’s Canadian, of course, and can be viewed for free on Amazon prime now.)

   Thank you for making me feel fine about my decision to completely skip the rap genre of “music”. I’ll take Nat King Cole over Potty Mouth Wayne, any day!

    Jelly Roll Morton, right on! Although I do love PF and a host of other musicians and genres. I can even find some disco I like (and of course the movie “Disco Worms”), and do not count out polka until you’ve danced at a wedding with a polka band. Best wedding ever!
