As a record collector, I often sift through piles of 45s by various bands from the late 1960s with names that reflect the times in which they aspired. If I ever run across one with the name the Pontificating Hippies, I’ll know it’s one that inspired Elly.
I’ll take the records. There’s got to be something in there besides the usual thrift store discards.
A moth is attracted to light. Bucky is right.
Pastoral humor! It’s all good.
Like Buffalo Springfield said, Hung Upside Down…..
Is Slum finally taking them to the hoosegow, where they belong? Oh joy of joys!
The rank and file takes it to the cerebral level. Always a good thing.
Another arc from the strip’s later period, in which the Bucky and Satchel relationship is a bit more cerebral, with comparatively less drama. I like it.
Slum is displaying more ire than I’ve ever seen him display (of course some who have more knowledge of the strip’s history may be aware of earlier such occurrences; that would be a matter best left to another discussion). The fact that he is about to offer a bit of reproof and correction to the Rube Brothers is most encouraging.
