The first Peanuts strip since the format changed the previous week to do a layout other than three square panels.
Classic lying Calvin traits in the third panel; finger up to his mouth, rolling eyes, and “um” and “uh” in his sentence. But it WOULD be funny if they showed such commercials during a morning cartoon block!
He’s said too much!
I remember in my high school senior English class, a couple of my classmates would make water dripping noises to try and get me (and maybe a couple others) to have to go to the restroom. It didn’t help that most of the school’s restrooms were extremely dirty and smelly, and could make me practically sick.
Maybe Homer and Bart Simpson are in there, too!
Heh, Calvin’s sculpture is hilarious! Too bad we couldn’t see it fully detailed, of course.
It’s artistic, that’s what. But not as impressive as THIS… https://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/1987/02/05
Heh, when they adapted this story arc into an episode of “The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show” in 1983, in the last panel it sounded like Charlie Brown was ROARING! He was at his most furious!
If Charlie Brown were smart, he would’ve stayed a third baseman instead of going back to pitching!
Heh, in a way it’s kind of like Lucy’s getting karma for not being nice to Charlie Brown when HE got Little Leaguer’s Elbow.
