For help on how to follow a comic title,
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! My favourite two are Creedence and Monterey.
Monterey is a great choice of name.
I see what you did there! Very clever! I like it :)
Those guys don’t get named until next year (1978).
A snarkily-spoken sentient snowman
Let’s have a naming competition for Woodstock’s friend :D Here is my entry: Erasmus.
So, if you have nothing but blind, sycophantic praise to offer apropos a cartoonist’s work, you’re forbidden to express your opinion at all? What’s the point of a comments section, then? The OP is clearly a massive fan of Peanuts who is just giving his personal opinion in an absolutely respectful and reasonable way. He has every right to do so without being insulted.
Lyman moves back in with them and brings another dog to the house who is ten times more annoying to Garfield than Odie – Garfield suddenly discovers that Binky the Clown is his new owner – A giant spider flattens Garfield with a giant newspaper – Orson the pig calls out Garfield for eating bacon and the whole cast of US Acres attempt to cook him alive and eat him in revenge.
Thank you for your replies to my post – they were very informative and interesting to read. What is the context of the sledgehammer quote? I myself am always moved by the beautiful last few sentences of Hans Christian Andersen’s Snow Queen (1845): And Kay and Gerda looked into each other’s eyes, and all at once understood the words of the old song, “Roses bloom and cease to be,But we shall the Christ-child see.”And they both sat there, grown up, yet children at heart; and it was summer,—warm, beautiful summer.
It’s not going to happen, but think how awesome it would be if tomorrow’s nightmare featured Lyman. He’d move back in with Jon again and bring another dog to share the house with Garfield who is a more inept and irksome version of Odie. Also, imagine a nightmare in which Garfield suddenly discovers that Binky the Clown is his new owner.
